I really want to thank everyone for their well wishes. It means a lot to me, Family is getting back in order. I’ve done very little in the way of working out other than swim, a lot, a whole lot. And a lot of running after the swimming. My cathartic release. Entered a sort of Athletics’ comp I happened to see as I was driving by. Shot put, tire throw, weight throw. A story for another time. Lose some weight which I’m putting back on thanks to my wife over feeding me. Be back soon posting when I have something to report.

Ok, here we go. Being honest I’ve had a few Jameson’s and a couple of cigars so this may not be the best time to be posting. Got through swimming about 3 hours ago as the sun went down. Did a fast (as I could) 2 miles. Wife gets really perturbed when I swim in the dark. Yesterday hit the gym with cousin Mike who pretty much drug me there. Got on the scale, weight in at 207. Think I was between 16 and 17 last time I weight that. First time I can remember being able to pinch/ pull some skin away from my body. Not much but what can you say. Guess we can call what I did a full body work out. Bench, overhead press. hammer curls, Tri ext, Bent rows. No legs and nothing to brag about on the weights. Lot a coffee and a sauna with cousin Mike and some good slow Zydeco playing over the loud speakers. Quote of the day by Cousin Mike, “Le Cousin (translated) why we sittin here in a sauna in August in Alabama"? Some reason this made me laugh my ass off and the day was good.

Good looking workouts. Solid lifting. Building a shed is some good exercise too. :flexed_biceps:

Finished building the shed/barn.
Been doing a every body part workout every 3rd day, rotating the exercises I do for each body part. Still doing lots of swimming in prep for ocean swimming in less than a month. Planning on doing a “as far as I can swim” before I leave. Couple of Nephews gonna follow me in their Bass Boat. Decreased kata and poomse time and increased Escrima practice so I won’t get too embarrassed when I get to the PI. Getting climatized as it’s been around 105 (heat index) for the last couple of days. Running during the heat of the day but drinking more water than usual. Usual is a least a gallon a day. Plus lots of coffee. Nothing much exciting going on.

Not sure I’ve commented here before, but I love your journal, as someone who appreciates strength stuff, physical prowess and cigars, so I lurk… But I have to comment here.

You are busy swimming, intentionally running in the heat, doing all sorts of what I can only assume is martial arts stuff, aiming for max distance sea swimming, and you’re over 70. My 70 year old dad, is amongst his peers, pretty good, lean (scrawny) and staying active, mostly physical labour in the garden, but a little bit of swimming and walking, but nothing like what you get up to every week.

Give yourself some credit it’s all exciting, you’re a bad ass!

I have to tip my cap to you for an ocean swim. That takes guts. Your training is impressive.

Thank you. I’ve just never been real good at sitting still. I’ve found the greatest health risk, mentally and physically, is sitting on your ass. Good to hear your Dad’s still active, too.

Thank you. I love swimming in rivers and lakes but the ocean’s pure bliss. Never feel so free. In the PI if I’m going far out some of my nephews follow me in a boat and keep a look out for shark. They like it when they spot one to kill and eat. (Taste like crap).
