Macromedia Files

I downloaded a video from a website yesterday which is in macromedia format.
When I go to open the file I get a message telling me that I do not have firefox and I need firefox to view the file as they are HTM format??
I emailed the owner of the site and he said I don’t need Firefox as they are macromedia files.
Anyone know what the problem is?

you need the shockwave viewer or flash player. Check macromedia.com for the DL’s. They’re plugins

Not that it has anything to do with us, but since we like to help out…

Can you view our commercial we posted in the following article?

(At the bottom of the article on the first page, click the “Turn up the volume and click to start” button.)

Just curious, as it is in the same format as the ones you described here.

How sure are you that you actually downloaded the video file and not just the web page itself. How large is the file size of this video?

I was wondering the same thing, unless it was a directory file listing or page with links to swf files (that didn’t embed them).

Hi Lowfatt Mat,
Yes I was able to view your advert so I definately have the macromedia software on my machine.

The sizes of the files range from 1.98kb to about 2.2kb.
They are meant to be short video clips.
