Machete Trailer

that movie was so good.

I’m all for blood, gore, violence, and nudity but the movie didn’t live up to my expectations. I still thought it was good, but thought it could have been a lot better.

It’s #1 but it’s been a low turnout in general this weekend movie-wise. $11 million weekend projected.

It would have been a classic but to much yapping, still good silly fun

As more boxoffice returns came in Boxofficemojo revised their previously projected weekend totals. Machette is #3 behind Clooney’s “The American” and “The Takers”.

Saw Machete with a mexican homeboy of mine.

I was initially put off by Machete’s ‘Arizona’ Trailer. I didn’t want to see a couple hours of illegal immigrant suckfest punctuated by gory action sequences. But the more I watched the trailer, the more camp I saw, until I realized theres no way Rodriguez could be legitimately said to be trying to make a political argument with the film. It’s really just the context of a mexploitation film.

There’s a lot of talk about illegals in it, and sure, they’re the heroes, but the film is just so over-the-top you can’t really take anything about it seriously. It’s good clean fun, if by clean, you mean ‘not requiring analysis to wring every last ounce of enjoyment out of it’. Not that I didn’t try anyways.

This movie did not live up to my expectations at all. I expected it to have a certain campiness to it, but even for a Rodriguez film, it missed the mark by a longshot. The fight scenes (if you want to call them that) are poorly filmed, the “climactic” fight between Trejo and Seagal is anything but, and it was just…I don’t know…boring.

Believe me, I’m no film snob. I’ll watch just about anything for the entertainment value, but this didn’t have much. And no…Lindsay Lohan’s thirty second boob shot doesn’t make up for the rest of the film…nor does Jessica Alba’s teaser of a nude scene.

I got to watch the first half hour Takers after that, and enjoyed it a lot more.

What happened to the Race War? Did I miss it?

Damn it, just when you are ready for all out destruction, maiming and relentless use of fire arms…nothing happens.

Alright…who’s seen it already??

I’m going tonight.[/quote]

Friend told me the movie didn’t focus on Machete as most would think it would. Still worth seeing though.

Reviews are already up.

For God’s sake, Soulja. Stop copying my style. Jesus!

Ha ha! No shit. I thought La Raza was supposed to slaughter all white people and conquer all of Southwest America by now. Kind of a let down in my opinion.

I liked it.
