I no longer care if this sucks. I’m enjoying this movie for the sheer camp.
This movie is pure badassness. Who gives a flying fuck about the “puhlitikal undertones” of the movie, it has a scantily clad Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez and a shit load of bad ass sword play (well machete play but I digress) … this movie is bad ass![/quote]

It looks like Machete may well match Shoot 'Em Up in campy badassery.
On a related note, here’s a trailer for another epic action flick coming out next month
Just try and tell me that’s not going to kick some serious ass.
Holy shit expendables looks so fucking bad ass, all the action heroes of note in that movie!!!
These two movies are gonna own haard!! ![]()
You know…anyone who would look at that trailer and start harping on “politics” would never be someone I would want closer than 50 feet to me at all times.

Gotta agree with andrew that she tends to be pretty hit-or-miss in pics.
I think she’s a good looking woman from what I’ve seen in films and would probably chock it up to her being one of those people who just doesn’t photograph all that well.
It happens.

Well then hold on to your hamburgers Prof., because there’s another Grindhouse trailer-turned-movie in the the works.
Legend has it that Rob Rodriguez once held a competition to find the best amateur-produced, Grindhouse-inspired fake movie trailer.
The winner was Hobo With a Shotgun:
The trailer is being filmed as a full-length movie, to be released next year starring Rutger Hauer as “The Hobo”. Presumably, given Rutger’s age, the Hobo will be a Vietnam vet, so expect more incoming pseudo-political bullshittery when the movie comes out.
This is why I never venture into PWI. Mountains out of molehills…

Agreed.

Yeah it does look like something from Troma, but the first still indicates slicker production values (lol at the corpse in the shopping cart). I’m pretty stoked for this movie, mainly because of Rutger Hauer.
saw the trailer tonight when i went to see predator. looks so good. michelle rodriguez and cheech marin, deniro and trejo and alba = greatness. plus jeff fahey - hot diggity dog.

BUMP!!!
That was frigging awesome!
So is Tarantino completely unaffiliated with this?
Thank you for that. I just saw The Losers also and I am regaining faith that the real action movie is not dead yet.

I think I just creamed my pants.
I’m amazed it’s still up. Oh and if your watch losers on DVD check out the deleted scene gives hope for a part 2.

Some of those old Troma flicks are wild. Machette looks terrible in the best kind of way. I’ll probably see it opening weekend. Also, has Alba ever done a nude scene, or even topless? If not, what are the odds this is her first?

Not nearly high enough for my liking.
