Did putting on a belt to bench help you much?

You know what? It felt pretty good actually, and I will continue to try it out. I might loosen the belt a notch next time, it was pretty tight but I did feel like it made a bit of difference in helping me stay tight.

Good to know. Did you have any trouble getting a good arch?

Well, I’ve recently ditched the “try hard for a super arch” because it wasn’t working for me. I could still keep everything tight and arched where it was still comfortable. My only issue was trying to get up with a locked down belt, wasn’t happening. Had to roll back and forth to get up, or undo the belt. If you try it, hike the back of your belt high, and push the front down low, that’s how I did it and it felt good.

Awesome, thanks! I can just imagine myself having a hard time getting up off the bench lol.
I used a belt for my bench for a while, I think it makes a difference in form. Good shit in here man!
sup dood?
you got your own treadmill at home? lucky…
I sold ours before xmas cause I needed some extra cash, lol
Along with the bowflex too…oh well.
Have a good weekend! I’ll be over here lost in 4 yr old party land ![]()

I’m late to the new log. Happy 30 Inky!
For what it’s worth, I feel even better at 40. No fear!
Pics of wife lifting, good. Wife with log up in PW, better.
That’s awesome that you are doing it together. Good for your little girls to see too.
Good stuff Joyce … You can pull it off
Oh and happy belated b-day old man … I always thought you were younger than me too … guess I was wrong ![]()
Liking the use of the kitchen island. LWI: lifting with innovation!
When you bench do you use your legs? You said you don’t have much of an arch now, does that mean you aren’t driving through your heels?
Thanks guys, and yeah MiM, I got a treadmill at home. It makes early morning cardio easier to do when I can watch something on netflix while walking for an hour. If I were to go to the commercial gym…no way would it happen!
Thanks Puff! and I’m sure 40 will be even better, since I’m not quitting this “hobby” anytime, ever!
Hey Polo, what’s up man?! Thanks for checkin in, and yeah I’m SO old now. haha
Major, I do arch hard and tight, I just don’t make it a really high arch. I don’t feel as stable that way, but I do use me legs and push through my heels. I think it’s just a matter of practice/time before I make some good bench gains. They’re coming, I know it.
Had a CRAZY busy weekend. Went out Friday night with my sister in law for her 30th birthday, wound up staying out until 2 am (I was the DD, but stil had a LOT of fun!), not asleep until 3, then up at 6 on Saturday (yay for kids…), ran some errands, moved a 600# safe which left me sore, had to hang out at my dad’s with family most of the afternoon, went swimming there because my aunt was in town and was in the pool when we got there which made my 4 year old HAVE to get in, and then of course, my 16m old needed to go in! After we left there around 7, had to go to the mall for some shoes and shirts for family pics sunday. Late to bed again, totally exhausted. Up and out the door for pics yesterday by 8am, back from pics for long enough to give the girls a nap while I sat on my ass on the couch playing xbox, then we were out the door again to go to a friends house, home in time to hit the rack.
Chalk it up as a “rest” weekend from the gym, but I’m freaking beat! DE lower tonight at the commercial gym, after training the wife at home. She’s still not big on lifting at the gym with me, she doesn’t like that gym’s free weight area, and it’s always crowded. Probably wind up getting a cage at home and/or switching gyms eventually. Adapt and overcome!

Got a few preview pics from the photographer last night. This one came out perfect. Everyone was sporting different color Chuck T’s, cuz that’s how we roll!![/quote]
OMG! So cute!! HAHA! That was a jam-packed weekend, Ink! Sounds like fun. You need a “rest” weekend from your weekend ![]()

awesome picture man!
I was scouring the training log section for you log and couldnt find it… I almost gave up then I saw the new one!!! You went with the “Lifting With Inky!” I like it.
those are some good goals to shoot for man. I’m sure you’ll reach them and surpass them
Have been on a little hiatus from the training log section but I’m back now… looking good in here. The new log is off to a great start buddy
so uh, hows the fst-7?
Have you gained 50 pounds since you started a few weeks ago?
^only 50lbs? psh. He will need more than that to lift in the 308 class…which he WILL do.
398 class?
lol
cuuuuute picture!!!
Thanks masch, no rest for the awesome though, right?
Welcome back Greg, was wondering when your panties would dry and you’d suit up again ![]()
FST-7 is uh, good…yeah, slowly putting on the pounds.
Dixie, another 70 and I’ll need to be in the 308 class, fuck that’s a lot. Baby steps though, I’ll get there
Thanks Mim, waiting for the rest of the pictures to be done with editing so we can see them all
Off to the gym right now, killing my lower half tonight, hope I don’t disappoint
Well, although it was a long ass session (for me), I survived, prevailed, and am not sore yet…but it’s coming!

Done with a double pump at the top, and dead stop at the bottom.
Standing Calf Raises (on a “Super Squat Hack Squat” apparatus thingy)
2pps x 12
3pps x 12
4pps x 12
Foam rolled my calves, hams, ass, and hip flexors.
Done.
Oh, and I hadn’t eaten dinner before all of this. I ate some brownies right before leaving work (couple brownie bites, not like a tray of them), and it put me off wanting dinner. After the girls were asleep and the house was a little more in order than it had been over the weekend…I went to the gym. Stopped at Wendy’s on the drive home (since that Burger thread made me crave it a bit, and nothing else was open after 10pm that I drive past) and just got a jr bacon double and a spicy chicken sammich, combined them and paired it with a 625 cal protein shake (yes, I checked), complete with whole milk, Metabolic Drive, and girl scout samoas ice cream. Best shake ever. Seriously. Woke up this morning…feeling GREAT! See?! My scientific hypothesis stands! I can train hard, eat “bad”, and feel great!
WINNING!
205 this morning, slowly attacking the 308 class, Dixie ![]()
