i lurked for a few months before a joined. i forget why but there was some stupid topic that i really wanted to comment on. now i dont lurk as much but still do some lurking.
Long time lurker here. I rarely get a chance to check into T-Nation until after 7 PM (grad school sucks up all my time). By that time of night everyone and their mother, little sister, and dog have posted all relevant advice on the threads. It feels stupid to state the same thing that everyone else already has.
I’ll jump in a conversation every once in a while if I catch it before it’s filled up with posts. However, I’m lurking most of the time.

I can’t tell if your sarcasm holds some deeper lingering loathing or not, but it’s still funny.
Lurkers Anonymous is a worldwide fellowship of men and women who share a desire to stop lurking, and subsequently maintain their sobriety. LA suggests members to completely abstain from lurking, regularly attend meetings with other members, and follow its program to help each other with their common purpose; to help members “stay sober and help other lurkoholics achieve sobriety.” LA created the twelve-step program used by similar recovery groups like Lurk-Anon, an auxiliary group for friends and family members of Lurkoholics; and Narcotics Anonymous, a group for substance abusers who may or may not also identify as lurkoholics. Although LA’s attrition rates are high, it can be effective as a treatment for lurkoholism.

Well my name is chris, I first started experimenting with lurking when i was 15, You know just various methods of lurking. When i was 18 my friends convinced me to go to an all night lurk fest where i lurked for several hours on the internet. Um, when i was 22 i got my first LUI from a policemen who had been posted outside my window who saw me lurk consistently for over 15 hours. I was lurk free after that for about 5 years. Unfortunatly i had one instance where i fell into a deep lurk, no one saw me for days, i didnt even leave my room, mostly lived off hot pockets and poptarts ( No sprinkles… I hate sprinkles). Soon after my friends staged an intervention and thats what brought me here today.
My name’s Art and I’m a lurkoholic. I’ve been lurk free for almost 2 years now. I started lurking in high school. I guess I did it just to fit in or something, but pretty soon my lurking was becoming out of control. We’d go to a party, and I was always the lurkest person there and I just couldn’t have a good time without lurking. I went to college and started lurking everyday until I got kicked out for bad grades. I spent all my time lurking and could never make it to class in the morning. So I got a job, but I was caught lurking at work a bunch of times and got fired. I had a bunch of LUI’s sprinkled in there and pretty soon I hit rock bottom. A friend of mine who used to lurk with me back in the day took me to my first LA meeting, and I just kept coming back.
Hi, I’m Manto and I’m a lurker

Hi Manto. Just say whatever you feel. Whatever is on your heart.
Once the first steps have been taken out of lurking the rest will come easily.
Fuck you! I don’t have a lurking problem! I can stop lurking anytime I want to!
I just don’t want to.
Creeper in real life and lurker on the internets…
I have been lurking these boards since I found the original Testosterone site in 1998. I read the articles, check out the boards, just never saw the need in commenting on most things here. Speaking of… I think I will go back to my lurking now.
There should be a lurker cell/subforum , a place for every lurker out there to not post at!

ha - the quietest place on earth!
all you sceptics out there, you should try lurking at least once in your life. I bet you’ll get hooked too. It’s almost exhilarating not to contribute to those heaps of bullshit produced by the average idiots, not to ask redundant questions over and over and over again, not to confuse helpless newbies with your personal training dogma that you’ll defend to the death even though it’s neither proven particularly successful nor practical…
however there’s a downside to the beautiful life of ‘the lurker’ - you seem unappreciative and unwilling to share the wealth of information that you’ve been gathering while doing your thing i.e. extreme lurking. additionally noone is going to congratulate you for having ‘supa hawt abz’ (damn, I do miss that…)
now, since I took the first step away from total lurkerdom - the extremists among the lurkers even claim that by speaking up I’ve relinquished the right to call myself a real lurker - I want to take this opportunity to say “thanks” to all those guys who invest countless hours contributing helpful and valuable information about training and nutrition as well as posting funny a$$ shit in the GAL forum. here you have it, a lurker says “thanks dudes”.

Umm, DCA with +1,000 posts you could be the most unsuccessful lurker ever. Sorry man.
I lurked for about a year and a half before I signed up and made my first (asinine) post. I posted a bit back in 05 and 06 then took a back seat and lurked some more. Then, about a year and a half ago, began posting again. I lurked because I had nothing to say, then I became more interested/interesting due to experiences and just a general perspective shift.
Now I post like it’s my job (I wish it was)

with an '09 join date and 1069 posts, I have a hard time believing you’re a lurker

How does one amass a 1000 posts in 5 months and still consider themselve a lurker?
I lurk regularly not out of choice and not only on T-Nation, but because I read threads where I know anything I say will get shot down by forum dick swingers or be buried under image macros, that and the internet more and more is like a spinning vortex of stupidty commentry which eventually achieve a singularity kind of like skynet and an eventual judgement day but with terminators that wear propeller beanies that spout memes and fire flaming hot dogs from their asses
Another hardcore lurker here. Been reading the site since 2000/2001, think I may even have had another username back then but can’t for the life of me remember what it is. I’ve read (or at least skimmed) almost every article since then, and regularly check up on the forums.
I read a few other weight training forums as well and I don’t really want to spend more time sitting at a computer than I currently do, so never really got around to posting much.
