Plus, you retarded jackass doofus, John Singleton didn’t direct FATF 2, and Tyrese HAS signed to do Luke Cage.
IMDB has him listed as the director on that project
I grew up on Higher Learning, Poetic Justice and Boyz n The Hood. I hated 2 Fast 2 Furious. I also hated Shaft. Of the 12 movies he is credited for, that isn’t that bad of a batting average in my honest opinion. If anyone could relate a story about a character like this into movie form with the right budget, who else would be right for it? What director do you all think would do this better?
Boyz is one of the best movies ever made. My god the summer memories that movie brings back. The soundtrack and dialogue were spectacular and Singleton captured the aura of South Central perfectly. He immersed you into the lives displayed and it couldn’t have been much, if any better. He’s a very underrated director.

This is very true. Singleton is the best choice for the part. I don’t see tyrese as my first choice but that’s just on bodytype. Im willing to see what he does for this movie.

I dont know if he would be better for it but I think Antoine Fuqua would do a good job…
Tears of the Sun, Replacement Killers, Training Day were all pretty sick movies… I love Singleton too. I was in Film School from '93 - '96 and there was no other director that had as much a buzz around them as Singleton… (maybe Tarantino)… but I think Fuqua is pretty talented

Not a bad choice, but aside from Training Day (which is debateable), he hasn’t really done a movie from the perspective of someone who grew up in a place like Harlem or South Central. I think that alone gives Singleton the nod on this.
I like you guys in film school. I have never debated trivial shit about movies more than with friends who want to be directors.

What inconsistancy? A question is not a claim. How do you think like this and continue breathing on your own? This has been explained to you yet you continue onward as if it hasn’t.
It was an opinion shrouded as a question - basically stated another way: If indeed they cast Tyrese, it would be the best casting of a superhero since Wesley Snipes. That’s pretty much what I took you to say. Throwing a question mark behind it doesn’t change the intent behind the statement. It’s a bullshit semantic argument.
But hell, I’ll play along: Is it a question when it has been confirmed that the man IS going to be playing Luke Cage? Now that it has been confirmed is it still good casting?
And yet another insult. Wow. You really can’t control yourself can you?
The inconsistency my dear “professor” is that you shit all over the casting of Brad Pitt for being too small and presumably “pretty” to portray Achilles despite the fact that other than a few statues, vases and the writings of Homer there is little guidance on what Achilles should look like. Given the historical evidence available to us, IT IS VERY PLAUSIBLE, IN FACT PROBABLE, THAT ACHILLES COULD HAVE HAD A PHYSIQUE MUCH LIKE PITT’s.
In the Luke Cage example, we have a character with a clearly defined, specific look, a look which Tyrese DOES NOT EVEN COME NEAR TO and yet you seem to be willing to give him (Tyrese) the benefit of the doubt in light of the fact that he is nowhere near physically what Luke Cage is supposed to be, and also suffers from the stigma of being too pretty.
Now, if Tyrese shows up on screen at 240+ I’ll be the first to shut the fuck up. On the flip side, if Tyrese does not (which I’m pretty sure he won’t) will you be man enough to recognize how full of shit you truly are on this point? Do you actually think they are going to hold production up until Tyrese puts on like 40-50 pounds of pure muscle to even come close to looking like Luke Cage? Either he’s going to jump on anabolics or they’re filming an underweight Luke Cage. So which is it?

He had his own comic first, then formed Heros for Hire with Iron Fist.
Also, in response to K-Narf…there really isn’t much of an Ultimate Luke Cage. He made a cameo appearance in one issue of The Ultimates, but he didn’t have powers and was mostly just a joke reference.
He does, however, have two distinct “eras”, for lack of a better term.
The guy we all remember in the yellow silk shirt and tiara who ran around Harlem shouting “Sweet Christmas” no longer really exists. Four or five years ago, they turned him a generic hip-hop looking enormous guy, but gave him a lot more to do, story-wise.
He’s an Avenger now, and having a baby with Jessica Jones, who used to be a C-list superhero.

Luke Cage first appeared in his own comic. Luke Cage:Hero for Hire #1. Harris could probably tell ya for sure but I think it came out 1972-73ish. Iron First and Luke Cage didn’t sell very well so they merged the two books.

Is he not a member of the Defenders in The Ultimate Universe?Don’t the defenders in the ultimate universe not have any powers?I think I read this somewhere…

gee harris…thats pretty funny.
We could have a race.
Tyrese would try to bulk while the Prof. tried to cut…I wonder who would hit 225 first?

I seriously doubt I will ever see 225lbs again unless I drop weight to compete or get sick. My overall goal is to be able to compete at over 230lbs, not below.
