Has there been any conclusion as to what benefit one can get from a lower dose of resveratrol daily? I’m on my sixth bottle of Rez-V after taking it almost continually at 3 pills a day, but I’m in college and getting strapped on cash.
I think the consensus was the 3 pills is mainly for the anti-estrogenic effects being lost during digestion? Would taking one pill keep some of the anti-oxidant/health benefits? I try not to mess with the dosing protocols, but being younger, I probably do not “need” as much of the estrogen antagonism (though don’t think it hurt)
I just started using Rez-V, moreso for the anti-estrogen effects and have to say I’m pleased thus far. Maybe you could enlighten me on what I can expect after I’ve been using it as long as you have?? What you notice?
I teetered on picking up this supp until I read the following article about the other benefits in regards to resveratrol.
Now, keep in mind Biotest is the only manufacturer that puts out such a highly dosed resveratrol product and as eluded in the article there would not be large dosages (eg. 300mg like in Rez-V) required to reap basic health benefits.
Most other resveratrol products on the market sold for anti-oxidant purposes have 30-50mg dosages per pill @ 2/day suggestions. So 1 Rez-V a day would cover that.
Maybe best if taken pre or post workout or times when oxidant damage is at its highest?
The other way I cover my anti-oxidant “requirements” is by using Syntrax Radox. It’s got a pretty complete formula in that regard, inclusive of small amounts of resveratrol (25mg per day) with a $20/month cost.
Well, I honestly can’t say that I have “felt” too much but that may be due to me being accustomed to taking it every day.
I normally just take it with my morning “stack” of multivite, 3 Flameout, and 3 REZ-V, allergy med, and a cup of coffee. (Currently added 10 mg vinpocetine)
In the beginning, there was actually a slight euphoric feeling about an hour after taking it. Placebo or not, I remember it pretty clearly. It would be interesting to see if anyone else experiences this.
Physically, I do believe I’m a little “tighter” even with a imperfect diet (Lets just say I won’t turn down free food) It may affect someone who is older with a less favorable hormonal profile more dramatically.
Health benefit wise, I think it is working well. I normally get sick at the drop of a dime whenever some sort of infection goes around. Yet recently a bad cough/cold/something ravaged where I lived, I managed to stay ok even with my roommate dripping everywhere.
