That low-carb milk SUX. It has the texture of Elmer’s glue, and I can’t taste a god damned thing. I mixed in a scoop of Surge though, and that was pretty f*cking good - reminded me a little bit of Strawberry Quick. Of course, I suppose that defeated the purpose of buying low-carb milk in the first place.
Actually, it’s a little odd, but I don’t think it tastes bad. After the first couple glasses, it tasted just fine to me. Of course, I went with the whole version, rather than low-fat. Don’t know what the low-fat ones taste like.
The Chocolate one is awesome. I have it as a treat every once in a while. I live on the fat-free carb countdown milk though. Now, mind you, I don’t drink it straight. I usually add it to my oatmeal. See…I hate having oatmeal with water…tastes like cardboard to me. But using the carb countdown milk makes it taste so creamy…its awesome.
Also, I use it in my Grow! pudding. I have 2 scoops with chunky all natural PB and add a little carb countdown milk to it. Best thing ever! Tastes like candy.
Carb countdown milk is one of the best inventions ever.

Literally just had my first glass of the plain Hood Low Carb Fat Free milk and I thought it was pretty damn good. But after 3 weeks of the Velocity Diet just about everything tastes good.

Here’s a tip: buy some frozen blueberries, or mixed berries, pour them on top of your oatmeal, nuke, enjoy. You get good flavor, berries, especially blueberries, are exploding with antioxidants, and you didn’t use anything unhealthy for sweetener.
Personally, I buy a bag of mixed berries and a bag of blueberries, then mix them together. That way I get blueberry-heavy mixed berries.
I keep them frozen and pour them in the bowl that way. One serving (1/2 cup) of oatmeal, plus 7/8 cup water (the berries will add some), plus a good layer of berries, nuke for 2:40 (time may vary), and you have a perfectly healthy breakfast. I also drink two scoops of Low-Carb Grow! with some non-fat milk, which is why I only have one serving of oatmeal.

I recall reading (I think it was an article by Mauro Di Pasquale who refered to a study presented in the “Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture”) that microwaving destroys antioxidants in fruit and vegetables. Maybe it would be better to add the berries afterwards.
What kind did you get? The Hood skim milk tastes worse than furry yak penis. The 2% and the chocolate (which I think is also 2%) are very nice. I use the 2% to blend either Muscle Milk (a high fat protein powder) or Low-Carb Grow! with Udo’s oil. Makes for a good P + F meal.
One more thing… If you want another way to boost the protein content and give a thicker texture to Low-Carb Grow!, add some pasteurized egg whites. A single scoop of Low-Carb Grow! in 6 oz. of Hood milk and 4 oz. of egg whites yields about 50g protein.

Yeah I tried the skim milk. I have not V-Dieted like Shugart, so I can not afford to take in immeasurable calories. Note that I didn’t say that it tastes bad (ie. furry yak penis). Rather I said that it had almost no taste. And it’s f*cking expensive. It was ON SALE for $6 a gallon. Hell, that makes gas looks cheap! And I rather enjoy the taste of many of the MRPs, Muscle Milk, protein powders, etc. when mixed with water.
So, how bad is lactose anyhow? Where does it rank relative to other carbs? It is a sugar, but I thought it was relatively slow to digest?
Anyway, I can tolerate all kinds of crappy tasting stuff. Mostly, I just wanted to disagree with Shugart. I mean, how busy can the guy be? Since he’s ingesting about as many calories as a supermodel, it’s not like he’s all busy cooking and sh!t. And ever since this D-Tap thing came about, he thinks he can get away with 15 minutes of work every 2 weeks? I’m not letting it slide. Candy-ass.
I don’t know Chris, I’d have to punch in with BFG sort of. I think it tastes like crap, and basically it’s a 64 ounce cheap whey shake. If you think that CostCo whey is shitty, I bet you’d cringe to see what they mix to make this Hood stuff.
Why wouldn’t you just make a diluted vanilla Grow! shake? That’s what I do.

Does anyone actually know how they would make this stuff? From their FAQ -
Q
How do you reduce the carbohydrates in your Carb Countdown products?
A
Dairy is an important part of any diet. We developed Carb Countdown to provide low carb followers with a delicious and nutritious way to incorporate dairy into their diets. The carbohydrates in Carb Countdown products are reduced through the reduction of sugars using proprietary technology; they are then sweetened with Splenda?
It sounds like they removing the sugar from regular milk through chemicals/enzymes, but that’s just a guess.

Not to sound sarcastic, but how else would one remove the sugar? Treatment with chemicals/enzymes is the backbone of industrial chemistry. Are you saying this is a bad thing? I’m confused.
