Low Carb Diet and Preworkout Drink

hey all, currently on a low carb diet try too keep carbs under 30 grams a day, in the hopes that i’ll drop bodyfat, now after an abysmal training session yesterday i was wondering if i have a product thats similar to gatorade 1/2 hour before hand would that be detrimental to my diet and fat loss or is it ok to take something ill be using whilst working out?

Carb taken around the wrokout period will generally be used up to replace stores - as long as you don’t consume too many.

Personally, if dieting I reduce carbs to under 50g and either have in the first thing in the morning or PWO. If I am consuming less carbs, I just have a protein shake before an after and avoid them all together.

my personal favorite is PoweradeZero mixed with 5-10g BCAA’s pre-workout. but like RSG said, carbs aroung workouts usually don’t contribute to fat gain in any way.

if i was considering taking in some carbs around my workouts; i wouldn’t jump right to gatorade…just personally. maybe eat some fruit and a protien shake before and then post workout have your shake and soon after eat some real food; rice. (or other good carb source)

$0.02

Just drink a whey shake.

I’ve been having good results with half a banana and 25g of whey before lifting.
