Love Handles?

breakfast:bowl of cheerios with skim milk and fruit and hard boiled eggs

lunch: whole wheat bread with tuna (sometimes scrambled egg whites or peanut butter), pasta

Dinner: Chicken, beef, rice

ALso, i very rarely eat fatty foods such as cake, cookies, etc…

ive been told that i should start doing dumbbell leans while standing up…but it doesnt seem to work

as for body fat, i dont know, i would say roughly 8-11%…im 5’5 135lbs and max bench at 200[/quote]

That’s not exactly a great diet, it’s not horrible but there is certainly a lot of room for improvement. Like dropping the cheerios, adding veggies, fish oil, etc.

This guy is 135 pounds and you guys are calling for him to diet. To me, it seems like he should focusing on cleaning up his diet (not reducing kcals), throwing some cardio in, and lifting like an animal.

They are also overanalyzing shit like Cheerios when he needs more size on him all over. If he actually had some muscle mass he just might be able to reduce his “love handles” easier instead of crash dieting when he is already frail looking.

What forum is this again?

thanks again to everyone…

to professor X, i have a very athletic build as ive been playing competetitive sports my entire life…the body type of a wrestler, so im not, by any means, ‘frail looking’

But you are apparently only eating 3 times a day with little attention to protein intake. Granted, at your size, you may need less overall calories than someone bigger, your approach is questionable.

In fact, the majority of threads like this are completely pointless without PICTURES of the person asking the questions.

Taking your word for how you look is a hopeless activity considering how perceptions are often off center from reality.

Jack up your lats. That’s the muscle over the kidneys.

My love handles got way smaller when my back got way bigger. I also gained 20 pounds over the period. Maybe it’s an optical illusion!

Spot reduction is KINDA possible. If you have love handles, but then you jack up your lats and your bodyfat stays relativly the same, then in that area the lean mass to fat ration will have changed. It’s common sense.

if you have love handles at “8-11%” bodyfat there is definetly something wrong with your body composition wow 0_o

98% of all percentages that you read were made up on the spot.

it’s not reducing the amount of fat in the area though, you’re statement doesn’t make sense

80% of all statistics are made up on the spot, too.

OP, the bottom line as I see it is that the majority of guys are gonna have some flub in the love handle region unless they get really lean. It is where we store fat, and the only way to get rid of it is to diet it away. That said, dieting may not be the best thing for your long-term goals. As ProfX said, it is impossible to give you good advice without seeing pictures of you. How about you state what your long-term goals are, maybe throw up a pic, and evaluate from there.

Too many red flags here. You have no clue what you’re doing.

Mine was being sarcastic saying the waist size stayed the same, but the back/chest gained about 4 inches.

Love handles were exact same size, they’re just smaller in proportion to my body which is what FS is getting at I elieve.
