Lots-o-Milk

Does the 5.5g of saturated fat per 250mL of milk have any bad effects on your body and cardiovascular system both short term and long term?

I drink a lot of milk and people keep telling me that’s it’s bad for me, etc and I just got to know if it will or not.[/quote]

Are those people health professionals? If not ignore everything they say. If so, ignore them too. Really, the average person doesn’t know jack shit about whats good and bad for you, so just agree and find out for yourself on here.

Milk is fine. I swear by the stuff, as do alot of people on here. Those who don’t are usually lactose intolerant. Saturated fat is good(not the fast food kind), you need it to make more testosterone.

For those drinking upwards of a gallon/day, how has your body comp reacted from the milk? I seem to get a beer gut personally so I had to cut down but am interested in hearing about others experiences with this.

I’m still so confused about Milk, i’m not gonna lie…does anyone have the absolute definitive idea of what kind/how much milk to drink in a day? Have you guys seen better results drinking milk than not?

I just always hear tons of conflicting shit about milk…how the calcium doens’t help us, how we can’t digest it, how we’re all lactose intolerant, etc. But then I hear people say they drink a gallon a day so I don’t really know what to do.

I used to drink skim - because I was following that whole massive eating article about how you shouldn’t eat fat/protein/carbs all at once. Then I stopped doing that since it was restricting my ability to get enough calories just due to the inflexibility, so I started drinking 2%.

I love drinking milk though, and have no problems digesting it, I only go through maybe a 1/3 gallon a day though and I have a lot of live culture yogurt so that probably helps my digestion quite a bit. It seems like a great source of protein.

I’ve been drinking a gallon of whole milk a day for the last 3-4 months, it’s made getting my 4500-5000 kcals a day much easier and more convenient. Not much in the gas department, or any bad effects really.

PS elano…gallon of whole milk has 128 grams of fat and protein, not 280 grams of fat…not sure where you got that number from. 8 grams of fat per cup x 16 cups = 128. Which comes to 1152 kcals from fat alone (128x9) in a gallon. Another 512 kcals from protein (128x4), and 832 kcals from carbs (208x4), for a grand total of +/- 2496 kcals. I think my math was right anyways…it’s late.

These people are just a few of my mates I talk to about gym, weights, nutrition, etc. They say they read things on sites saying too much milk is bad. I’m very skeptical but generally I don’t know what to say back.

I’m slightly lactose intolerant. When I drink more than a litre of milk in an hour, I generally need to go to the toilet. Doesn’t stop me though.

I was putting back over a gallon a day for a while.

Bulked to about 240 then back down to 220.

Milk is the shit, but just remember it has a large insulin response and alot of sugars.

If it’s going through your system that quickly you probably are absorbing very little of it.
