Oh thank god…

Just kidding of course, solid job on 185lbs man, I’m sure you will hit 205lbs in January after the deal is over.

Just want to note that you don’t want to do this if you have a tear or strain.

@flappinit no offense, good intentions, but doing that will make it worse and prolong the healing process.

Absolutely correct, I just figured he wasn’t at the injury point yet given his 465 deadlift. It just seems like it’s sore and on the verge, but you’re right and I should have clarified.

Edit: ice, ice, ice, didn’t mention that for some reason.

Maybe I should explain a little what is going on when I say I tweak my hammy.

During the lift I get an unusual pressure or strength sensation in the muscle belly. Not painful but it seems if I pushed it to continue or did another rep it would burst. So, I have been shuttling down using it. I have iced it some but not regularly. This last time I decided to test it some to see if it was a mental thing or a real warning sign. So I hopped back on 315 which is challenging but not heavy. The ham almost immediately had the “tweaky”, “cramp”, “strained “ sensation so I took a plate off and it still was bothered to do 225 but I forced it to work. Really just to feel it out and see if it was serious or something else.

It’s been one of those nagging things since week 7-8 in the Darkhorse cycle. So it’s been lingering for 3-4 weeks. It gets better then out of nowhere it’s back. I thought it was either a mild strain or a dehydration cramp at first and it may be just a mild strain.

I’ll test squat Friday or Saturday probably leaving a few pounds in the tank.

Jeeeeez you’ve gotten strong! All that hard work has been paying off.

Hammies could just be extra tight. Have you tried standing on a tennis/lacross/golf ball and rolling your foot. Search it on internet and you’ll find a good video of how to do it. Hurts like hell but it works.

How’s the old hammy feeling about this?

Tried to flair up with 225. I just kept pushing it. It settled down

Look into some compression shorts for when you are doing squats and deads. I’ve been wearing them for years. They give a little support to the muscles, keep them warm and moving properly (or so they say). Not talking about full-on squat briefs, just some good athletic compression shorts (I wear 2XU brand personally).

So I max tomorrow and I’m not sure what I’ll do next. I’ve never been this close to being done with out planning my next program. I thought I would do 3 weeks of single arm/ leg work but ehhhhh. I’m not really feeling that. I may just go back to 531 for a cycle or Stoppani shortcut to shred to remove some lbs. I printed the program before B.B. went pay to play.
I really don’t want to do a bunch of fluff. And Stoppani’s plans have calf work and other stuff I’m not in to any more…

Choices choices choices.

I do like the conjugate method. I will be training solo much of the next cycle possibly until November/ December. Hmmm. I may run Alan Thralls program or Alshure’s linear program. I would like to run death bench. Maybe next summer for that.

Tell me about it!

Any of those programs you listed would be awesome. I rocked Stoppani’s Shortcut to Size and Shortcut to Shred and had some pretty amazing results.

Let me add in CT’s Simple Guaranteed Strength and Size
@Frank_C is running it currently. I’m planning to run it as well. Should be a nice change of pace.

His shortcut to size is the first program I ever ran. I was awesome. I thought I’ll be back to this one soon. Never been back

Done. I decided to celebrate by shutting it down.
The hammy was not an issue. I didn’t want to pick WH it after what started a lifetime goal. I’m gonna have to readjust the goals and see what I want to peruse.
