Blacking out while pressing is always a funky thing. If you don’t have a spotter/you are doing overhead stuff it is certainly dangerous as well, good to hear you had one and are alright

Damn dude, I’ve never blacked out during a rep. I’ve gotten auditory exclusion during heavy back squats (coming out of the hole with around 500 on my back, my earbuds would suddenly get very quiet), and gotten dizzy after finishing and racking. But I’ve never blacked out. That’s hardcore. Good thing you had a spotter, that could have been messy.

It was like the room just went away…and only for a instant. Then I was back. It happened on the previous rep of 215 but I locked it out and thought hell yeah that was cool…I should have listened to the body a little more but 215 was so smooth. My spotter said man that looked easy is why I even tried 225.

Wow that’s crazy! Actually had my first somewhat similar experience doing push press last week. My whole body suddenly felt weak and my vision went blurry, nothing going black though.

If you aren’t eating much my guess is the weight loss is from water because of glycogen depletion. But if that was the case you shouldn’t be able to hit such big PRs!

I am a bit dehydrated. I read that dehydration can play a role in that feeling. Or lower glycogen levels like you say.

That’s wild dude, I’m glad you’re alright. I know that can happen if your body isn’t used to handling that kind of weight (because it thinks you’re about to get crushed and doesn’t know it’s in a controlled environment), but that’s weird because you’ve benched more than that before. Idk.

Hitting that kind of volume, it’s only a matter of time before 215 feels light and 225 becoming a PR is a distant memory. That’s awesome bro!!
