That’s probably the hardest thing to understand as a new lifter. I was in that position like 6 months ago. It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Getting injured sucks, as you know… no reason for that to happen to a young guy

Wow I’m sore. Glutes are feeling tight this am. Single leg work hits a little different than dual leg. I like it.

Woke ate 238.6. That could be a great thing. Weird thing is my calories are up to around 2800-3000 for the last week and I’m loosing weight…hmmm

Btw try kneeling bottom up KB presses. They’ve really helped my shoulders. I’m using them for warmups.

3/21/18- deload week

Went on a 5 mile hike today. Whew… had a blast with the kiddos gathering wild flowers for a science project. The legs are on fire. Burned somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 calories. Time for a nap!

Dude I just figured, I’m 43 years old. I’m not growing anymore. These shoes will last me the rest of my lifting life probably longer. These shoes are getting all the hype about being awesome, not only by professional lifters, but amatures that have them. They also are not excited about the new model 3s. These shoes are getting hard to find. So I need to move on a pair. So I did.

I did also look at a rouge r-3 power rack today. The shoes were a bargain compared to that. :flushed:

I have shoes exactly like that. They are REALLY good.

I was trolling my way through a Nike superstore, and I saw those for something crazy like 50-70% off (can’t remember now; it was a while ago). I immediately decided to get them

Just hope you got the sizing right. Sizing recommendations have been scattered about through like 3-4 training logs so I don’t think you found them

3/23/18-- day 1, 6 week pillar squats with Hypertrophy block, 4 day split.

Pillar squats- 50%x 25 reps

140lbx25. These were not bad at all.

Hyper- pull/ push

Wide grip lat pulls:

Seated v-handle row:

DB hammer flat press:

Ss DB hammer curls/ back flys

Done with :45 second rest between sets and exercises. Done in 54 minutes. I was sucking wind at the end with a great shoulder and upper pec pump! Decided to do a :30 minute walk…jogged some.

My son brought out the trap bar with 4 plates (225 total) so I did 3 sets of farmer walks. 70yds, 70yds, 100yds. We will keep these in here for ab work and weight will go up to 245 next time.

The squats were a little disappointing and not as difficult as anticipated. Instead of upping the weight, like I want to do, we will hold at 50% for the week and check the accumulated fatigue at the end of the week. Tomorrow will be 115 reps of squats so we will feel it tomorrow.

Still trying to figure out what weight I will use for the crossgrove squat complex on Wednesday. Thinking 115 or 95 will be pleanty. Legs should grow during this six week cycle which is what I want. In order to push that DL up to 500 I need more leg drive and power.

Can’t wait for the shoes to show up. They haven’t even been shipped yet, so who knows when they will arrive.

I took some pictures of our playground. The sons shoulder is getting better. He is doing shoulder raises and rotations every night and says the shoulder is much improved! That is a huge win!!!
