His physique may not be as impressive when compared to other bodybuilders but you can’t deny the momentous progress he’s made at such a young age, steroids or not.
The thing that intrigues me is that on another forum I read a post where someone said you see 20 yos like him in the States all the time? Is this true?
Insane progress. I don’t care if he was using steroids extracted from the balls of a Silverback gorilla - nobody can argue that a LOT of dedication didn’t go into building that physique.
I live in Canada, and maybe I go to the wrong gyms, but physiques like that on 18-19 year olds are not common around here.
I live on the north side of Nashville, Tn and and they must be putting something in the water. It seems like every kid in my gym is jacked from the waist up. But hardly any of them put any time or effort into their wheels. One squat rack, one power rack, one leg press and just finally got a hack squat today, and still hardly ever a wait. Finding a bench can be a bitch.
Common occurance: I am 46 and one of the older guys there. Kid will ask me what I weigh. When I reply 250 (at 5’ 10") they respond with something along the lines of “holy shit” how do you weigh twenty, thirty or forty pounds more than me? When I pull up the leg of my shorts they still find it hard to believe.

Like football player big or look good without the shirt big? How many do you suspect use drugs?

Jacked, lean, with lots of vascularity and abs (again above the waist). About twenty percent have the whole package, wheels and all. I do expect a lot of chemical assistance. There are just too many of them.

Posts like this just show how different things are across the globe. What does “all the time” mean? Have I seen guys like that? Yes. One guy I am training with now just hit 21 and weighs a LEAN 240+lbs right now. His progress has been amazing. Do I see tons of guys like that? Hell no. It takes good genetics AND a shit load of effort and consistency to do that no matter what.
This guy looks great for his age. Yes, there are guys like that in the states but nobody looks like that without some serious training.

If you lived in the Dark Ages and you were a catapult operator, I bet the most common question people would ask is, “Can’t you make it shoot farther?” “No, I’m sorry. That’s as far as it shoots.” - Jack Handey

Well the poster in the other forum seemed to disregard him as nothing too special (the poster was a former NPC champion), saying there are many kids like him.
You seem to be insinuating that these guys both know what they’re doing in the gym and are giving a very strong effort - drugs or not.
If this is the case why do I see so many posts about how guys are becoming more effeminate looking?

Depends on the reference class of course.
He is special if you consider the general male gym population.
If you consider the population of guys who train+eat correctly and take a well-dosed pharma protocol, than he is probably not special.
ps: Also, if you take TN as your reference class, he is special again.

Yeah I’m trying to get an idea of how common place guys who train and eat (and take a well-dosed pharma protocol) are over there in the States.[/quote]
Probably hard to get a good idea because it depends on the environment. For example, bigger cities tend to have more big guys in the “right” gyms (a reputation thing).
Anyway, I’m from Europe and while the same things apply, it seems that BBing/working out is a lot more popular in the US than over here.

Nothing special to whom?
I lift weights around a lot of serious guys who would apparently look like freaks to many posters here judging by these posts. In a field like that, yes, we see quite a few.
Any comments I have made about how effiminate men may be becoming has more to do with culture. I find rich suburbian kids who grew up playing X-box all day in deep freeze air conditioning to look pretty fucking weak lately.
I find guys who have to worry about drive-by’s on the way home tend to NOT want to look like a mark.
