Looking for General History Book

Looking for a book on history. Not a general survey of historical facts but one about methodology and uses of history. If anyone has read “Demon-Haunted World” by Carl Sagan I’m looking for a history version of this.

It sounds like you’re looking for a book about historiography, not history. “Historians Fallacies” by David Fischer is a pretty good book about historiography and how historians study history.
