Ok so awhile back there was a thread on here discussing real life Rambo type guys in history. Now I have exhausted the search engine trying to find it and cant.
What im looking for is an article about a guy who single handedly took out and scared off entire units in what I think was the second world war but might have been the first. He was like a regular farmer and would just hide in the woods popping guys off.
Are you looking for one guy expecially, or do you just want the name of one person who did these things?
There are many tales of WWII snipers holding off entire units. Snipers are one of the most effective methods at getting into your enemy’s head.
Im graduating with a history major after this last class I’m taking is finished, so I’d be happy to help you. Plus I’m a former military guy and I dig this sorta shit. Let me know.
Hathcock was a complete badass. The NVA had a huge bounty on his head. The history channel every now and then runs a show about famous snipers from the US. Might look it up on their website. Unless someone already answered your question
Not Hathcock, pretty sure he was talking about WWII snipers.
Too bad Hathcock’s record for longest confirmed kill was broken. Still doesn’t take away from he legend though. A canadian has the record for longest confirmed kill now, wtf.
Hathcock’s record was broken first by an Army Ranger in Iraq, then by the Canadian dude in Afganistan. Sniper - Wikipedia

Alvin York, WWI?
an American soldier who is renowned as a World War I hero.[1] He was awarded the Medal of Honor for leading an attack on a German machine gun nest, taking 32 machine guns, killing 28 German soldiers and capturing 132 others.
Years ago my buddies who had been to afghanastan told me about a guy picking some dude off at some crazy distance and it was kind of a legend. Then as mentioned earlier the history channel did a special about it, fucking badass.
My buddie mike (pictured) is a scout sniper and contractor, he has a .50 cal long arm and a MSSR which is what the scouts shoot. He is a foul motherfucker.
