I find using an ez bar to be a more natural movement.
Question about weight comparison is useless. Comepltely different execersises. Just figure out what weight to use.

I like to finish over the chest like in the second vid rather than hold the angle like in the first. This way you get the Long Head to contract a little more rather than holding static.

Not sure I see the smith wide reverse bench as a long head exercise, at least for me.
It all depends on the setup. Like Delta said, if you are pushing straight up, if will act like a compound movement primarily for chest and hit triceps no differently than BB bench. The correct setup is to turn the bench around and only lay on half of it so your lower back and butt are NOT supported.
Ideally you have a 7 degree Smith machine and you want the bar path to push towards your feet. If you get your pinkies outside the rings ( I use a suicide grip and push will the balls of my hand) and push towards your feet you can really feel it in the back of the tricep.
Thanks, but I know the setup of the move!
Easy big man. I wasn’t insinuating that you didn’t know the setup. It was more of an informative post off your comment for anyone that may have tried, or is going to try, the move and has the same thought you did about feeling it in the tricep. ![]()

It’s no stress buddy, internet = difficult to get feelings across.
Anyway no hurt feelings on my part.

Question on the PJR’s: I’ve only seen people doing them with only their upper back supported on a bench, why not just do them lying on one?

I have always done them lying fully on the bench. The only thing that hangs off the bench is my head. Upper back only supported is more pullover setup for back movement.

Try the exercise with some heavy weight and youll see why.

Exactly.
I do them on a seated cable row bench so I can anchor my feet down.
Anyone try the PJR pullover similar to how Meadows’ vids have it i.e. incline bench with an extreme stretch at the bottom? Really hits the long head.

edit: nvm, i get it, bringing DB to cable station
