I think I have good muscial tastes. For the most part, I listen to a lot of house/progressive and some alternative (Third Eye Blind, Linkin Park, POD, KORN, etc.). But my friends think I have some of the gayest music in my collection. I’m talking George Michael (there is nothing wrong with George!), Michael Jackson (The History cd’s are cool!), Madonna (she rules!), Color Me Badd (oh yeah, I was a big fan!), and some great 80’s hits. How about “All Night Long” by Lionel Richie? That’s great! LOL! There are plenty of other good 80’s songs that I think are cool, but most other people would think I’m an idiot. And there is nothing wrong with “Total Eclipse of the Heart!” That song is good too. And “Red, Red, Wine” by UB40 is another favorite. Okay, I’ll stop now.
Feelin’ on ya booty is a good song. Also i listen to alot of Baby face. I’ll listen to some pop if it comes on and no-one is around. But i gotta laugh my ass off at mmmbop! reesh, c’mon you can’t be serious!
I’ll admit to being the biggest closet Matchbox 20 fan in the world. I’ve seen them in concert twice with all the cougars and they’re drunk, 40 something husbands and boyfriends. I can do a pretty mean Rob Thomas impersonation as well.
Yeah, as embarrassed as I am, I admit to listening to that song. It’s a good thing my identity is hidden on this forum. But if you attend Mike Mahler’s kettlebell workshop in San Jose, you can laugh at my face all you want. I’ll be there.
I am here to defend “Safety Dance” – this is not an embarassing song, Men Without Hats is a great band, and they had many really great pop tunes! Buy their “Greatest Hats” collection, everything on it is great!
Built this City by Starship and Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us - same group. By the way singing these songs does not help you pull the babes. believe me i know.
Either you’re all just young pups, or no one’s willing to admit they’re REAL guilty pleasures!
How about: “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor (I think). “YMCA” by The Village People, or “Shake Your Booty” by KC and the Sunshine Band! I LOVE dancing to those old disco hits (and no I’m not gay - not even bi).
And to set the record straight: Nothing by Bonnie Raitt is a guilty pleasure - she TOTALLY ROCKS!
Well, I’m not ashamed of any of these but I love Leonard Cohen, Sade, some stuff by Phill Collins, Vaya con Dios, some stuff by George Michael is also cool, Gangsta Rap in general, reagge, house music…I just like music.
