London Olympics 2012 Thread

I must admit I’m looking forward to seeing what my sassenach brothers can come up with for this illustrious event.

Might even take a jaunt down to London and soak up those sweet Olympic vibes.

Do my American cousins actually still take any interest in the Olympics?

Should be good. I live a 5 minute walk from the stadium (which actually will make life pretty hard!) but I can’t wait. Looking forward to the:

Judo, Boxing, Athletics, Swimming … and pretty much everything else except for the curling …

Good news, you’ll have to wait another 2 years for the curling.

YUP

I wonder if NBC will completely fuck up the coverage like they did with the winter olympics.

I dont live far from the stadium so its gonna be a nightmare for me commuting and travelling in general but im looking forward to the events.

I have only got 1 ticket! thats all they would give me and its for the weightlifting. As much as i know it has to be done fairly (ticket distribution) of all the people i know i dont know anyone with a ticket!! except 1 mate who’s going to see the football.

So where have all the tickets gone?? certainly NOT to Londoners, the ones who have paid for the games and the ones whose lives will suffer the most during it!!

But other than that i cant wait!! lol

I imagine the tickets have been snapped up by all that hurray henry mob and sports tourists who decide to follow sport for 30 minutes every year.

F*** all those working class idiots who had the audacity to apply for tickets!

F’ing love the olympics … specially the Chinese women’s gymnastics team … I’d get gym-nasty with those appropriately aged young women

I’m stoked for the weightlifting, the wrestling, some of the athletics and any combat sport, really. As a competitive weightlifter it’s always cool to see the best go at it, and there should be some new world records come out of the games. Also know a couple of the female wrestlers representing Canada so that will be cool, used to wrestle at the same club as them. The athletics and other combat sports are the only other things that really jump off the page and sound interesting to me, though to be honest I could see myself sitting down to watch any of it haha.

Which session did you get?

How can it be claimed that the coverage was bad?

All the right stuff is on during prime time, and channels like MSNBC, CNBC, even Bravo will air more of the rare stuff.

Then? If you’re in a hole and can’t see shit? NBC’s Olympics Webpage has EVERYTHING represented. Acres of miles of counties of coverage.

I love the Olympics, and I’m stoked for London to host. It’s going to be a fun one.

Hey, what date is the “Running of the Hooligans” event?

It’s the day after the “Knick Knack a Paddywhack on his Bee Bop” match and a day before the “Slime a Jaspy Jabberwocky with yer Gibbly-Doo” preliminaries.

There is only ONE Olympic event:

“Women’s Beach Volleyball Victory Hug”

Everyone wins.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the bikinis are no longer “required” for womens volleyball.

…yeah. And taking a cue from the Canadian Miss Universe Association, neither is being born female.
