Loganator's Log: Back to My Roots

As I started to reply to this I realized there was a lot I wanted to say so thought it’d be good to put in my log.

That’s part of it, tendons will rub over the ASIS on the front of the hip. The red flag that it was snapping hip syndrome was difficulty standing from a seated position. If I sat for more than a couple mins I’d get a lot of pain as I got close to standing, I’d almost have a ratcheting motion on the way up rather than a smooth transition.

First month after the strain was weird, pain from groin that would occasionally go all the way up deep into my love handles and back. Not awful pain but not pleasant either. Also it was somewhere I’ve never felt pain before so that was part of it being weird. Since then it’s just a mild low grade pain in the front of the hip/groin.

Started going to the chiropractor again a month or so back. My right leg is 3/8th of an inch shorter and it’s rotated a little wonky. Had a history of IT band syndrome back when I was running high mileage. It’s a known issue that my hips/core are weak but I haven’t trained them seriously in 4 years so I was bound to get hurt eventually, gotta do my “homework” if I want to be able to train hard.

The 2 times I had ITBS I couldn’t run for 6 months. But 6 months after getting back into it I was hitting PRs in workouts and weekly mileage. Been here before and know I’ll come back stronger than ever, injuries give me a good training mindset and it’s been a while since I had one.

Also replacing legs with arms isn’t so bad, sometimes it’s fun to be a bro.
