Liver Recovery After Oral Steroids

I competed in a men’s physique show 10 days ago, I was running a pretty conservative 16 week test 400 mast 500 cycle. For the last 4 weeks of the prep I was running stanozolol at 100mg per day, and for the final 2 weeks I added halo at 20mg per day (alongside the stanozolol). Since the show, I have been taking only a TRT dosage of testosterone 150mg / week.

I generally never run orals other than the last 4-6 weeks before a contest, I dont take any prescription medications and rarely need otc meds other than the very occasional ibuprophen, and I never, ever drink. Furthermore, I take NAC and Liv-52 whenever I am taking orals, and for a week or so thereafter.

I need to have surgery to fix an umbilical hernia before the end of the year, and I figured it makes sense to stop being stupid, start getting bloodwork done, have my cholesterol and other health markers checked, and start taking a more sensible approach to wellness now that I am approaching 50.

My question is this - how quickly will my liver values return to normal after cessation of the oral steriods?

I am open to dealing with actual issues that I may be experiencing, but don’t want to rush in to have bloodword done at the wrong time, and create a false positive / unnecessary concern over my liver when I know it will return to normal.

Can anyone shed some light? Thanks in advance!

My ALT/AST were typically back to normal within a month. Keep in mind that it’s not abnormal for those that work out hard to have slightly high values.

I don’t have a lot of experience with orals so grain of salt here.

I took 25 mg daily oxandrolone 3 months recently. Had bloodwork two weeks after stopping and saw zero issues from prior except my SHBG tanked, which I learned is common for oxandrolone. Not sure about other orals.

Your AST/ALT may be elevated from lifting heavy weights. Mine is always “high” because of this. If you can, try to get bloodwork after a few days rest. I haven’t lost any sleep over it and I have felt fine going on almost two years of elevated AST/ALT. I figure by the time my liver maybe says no mas, new livers will be available over the counter at CVS lol.
