Yeah. She’s got one foot in the grave for sure.
[/quote]

haha She mentioned that she was pushing a half century. You don’t see many 50 year olds (men or women) putting up her numbers.

By the comment I meant she didn’t look her age in her videos.

hey Snap, I know you’re catching up to my age … let’s show these girls what “mature” women can do…ha, ha…

Thanks Bobbi, I’ll take that you mean I don’t look my age…lol - my Avi, it’s me and my 24 y/o son (his first full power meet is coming up this month)

Actually there are a lot of women Powerlifters in their 40’s and Ellen Stein is 57 and I hope to be lifting at that age! Most are geared lifters, but even then you had to have some awesome raw power and a good strong base to lift those numbers they are putting up.

DE Lower 9/29/10
Speed box squats w/bands
10" box w/plate on top
bar x 10
add dbl mini each side
bar x 3
65 x 2 x2
75 x 2
take plate off 10" box
75 x 2
90 x 2 x2
105 x 2
115 x 2

Speed Deads
185 x 4 sumo
185 x 3 conv
205 x 1 sumo, then conv
215 x 1 sumo, then conv
225 x 1 sumo, then conv
225 x 1 conv - can’t pull sumo fast at this weight
235 x 1 conv
235 x 1 conv
245 x 1 conv, most I’ve ever pull for speed, this was probably the fastest of all the reps - Video attached

GHR
BW x 15, 12, 10

Decline Situp
20# x 20
22.5# x 15
22.5# x 15

DB Obliques
50# x 15
55# x 15

Thinking I’ll probably go back to pulling conventional, just stronger and faster than Sumo. But I do also think really working the sumo pull has increased my conventional pull. I’m going to pull openers, and probably 2nd attempts next week so we’ll see how that goes.

that dead was super fast!
and you and your son are really cute:)

Ahh, you’re mistaken Lil Power. I’m only, umm, 25.

Your explosiveness with lifting is awesome.

Yeah, a lot of older female powerlifters opt for the gear it seems. Me included.

I hate you for making 245 look like my 185.

wow. Forget 185, that looked like my 135!

Great work!!

And don’t forget Harriet Hall. Amazing. She lifted a ~1300 total this February. In her 60’s. And she’s a really nice lady. Very motivational. She lifts more at this point than I do at 26. Much respect.

…wow.
When you say “speed” you mean… speed :stuck_out_tongue:

thanks all! that 245 DL was the most I’ve ever done on a speed day, so I was (still am) happy with that.

@snap, sorry didn’t mean to blow your cover…I know you can’t help but look 25!

Just an off day, wasn’t feeling the bench at all, but still moved a bit of weight overall.
Showed Mitch today how “tight” he needs to be on the bench…after he was “tight” I pushed his legs on the bench, and they moved, told him he needs to be tight top to bottom so someone couldn’t budge him…he got up, huffed and puffed and reset up, this time I couldn’t budge him…know what…he got a PR on the bench…195# !

I love your log SO MUCH. Makes me want to work even harder.

Wanna come to my gym and make magic happen for me too? :stuck_out_tongue:
Last time I benched I had TIGHT thoughts and felt a LOT stronger and got some rep PRs, but I’d imagine that if someone tried to move me, I’ll still budge so I’m sure that I can make more progress than I am.

And I second the others, your log always makes me want to tear up some weight to get to this level… even if I just got out of the gym an hour ago haha

Thanks Kimba/Bobbi/Nikki, I get motivation from your logs too!

Screw that “They give you a thick waist.”
I love 'em.
And it’s a TIGHT waist, not thick.

Agree with that Nikki, plus helps when have heavy weight on your back !

those triceps pushdowns would leave me retardedly handicap the next day.

looking forward to read about you hitting that 225
