Oh good grief.

Have to agree, this was where you went wrong.
I strongly disagree with you, you are wrong.

If you are not from the US then you can talk soccer all you want.
You can start a thread about soccer and talk about all the flopping and tied games in that thread.
However do not include real sports like Football, Basketball, Baseball and Hockey with Soccer.
That is for foreign guys with no money for a real sport and I guess Hipsters in the northwest who have to be “different” for the sake of being different.
There have been whole threads complaining about the flopping in basketball and with all the new rules in football it will not be long before it becomes touch back or flag football. Baseball? The only “sport” where out of shape fat asses can be top dogs. Don’t get me wrong I like basketball and football but, those that say soccer is for pussies, etc. have never played competitively.
I played soccer for 14 years.
When did I ever say soccer was for pussies?
Its just fucking boring to watch. Like watching 90 year olds fuck or paint dry.
Alright, fine, you think it’s boring, I accept that.
Are you saying Baseball is fun to watch? because I might not be able to accept that.
Nope baseball is also boring to watch.
However it still generates more money in America than soccer does.
Soccer is popular worldwide cause it takes no money, all you need is a goats bladder tied off and pumped with air. Kids run around kicking it in between an old exploded mine and the head of the goat. Yeppee soccer at its finest. Takes away from the fact the kid has not eaten in three days. Kids are able to play it in third world countries and that is great for them.
Everything you say is true, and yet somehow you think that is a bad thing? That an extremely poor person, from a third world country can basically make a name for himself through hard-work, consistency and almost no financial commitment… and you think that is bad?
You think it’s bad that starving kids, poverty stricken areas, have something that brings joy and happiness to their incredibly depressing and unfortunate situation?
Sounds like you are either delusional(which I know you aren’t) or you are trying too hard to make soccer look bad.
Popularity wise, it’s a given that there are more popular sports in America, we know that. That’s because the quality of american soccer players are shit. You are not technical, you do not have coordination to make it work, yet.
How did I say its bad?
How am I making soccer look bad?
I am pretty much just making a statement of why its popular outside of the US.
Obviously in the US, soccer has a following I played for a long time in south Texas, however it will never become the dominate sport. Due to the fact we do not have a society that will enable it to grow.
Football has become the national pastime in the US. While it is changing at many levels it will never be flag/touch football like many fear.
If you enjoy soccer and enjoy watching it then for the love of God go watch it.
Just do not be surprised if 90% of Americans can not discuss with you anything in relation to the sport.
