HOLE,
Cold play and Radiohead (kidA) do get me all worked up but the tempo I don’t know how it would work?
Mr. Mathers lose your self makes me dig deep on the bike, and sometimes I cry (little bitch I know!)
TRUE Norwegian Black metal (like older Ulver, Satyricon, Emperor, etc). And Thrash like The Crown, Darkest Hour, Carnal Forge…
Yeah Rollins likes powerlifting. He has become buds with Ed Coan, putting Coan on the guest list when he is in Chicago playing and Coan gave him his PL videos. Rollins has a deadlift plat, cage and a pile of weight at his house and mainly trains there except when he is on the road. He is the man and his music is great to workout to. His spoken word stuff is awesome too. He often talks about lifting and stuff and is quite entertaining. Whoever was going to post that article (I think if was from Details back in 93’) post it! IT is a great article that most can identify with, except those that just like to look purty’!
I popped in a good one i have not listened to in a while this morning on my way to work, its the first Korn album…think i will listen to it durring my workout today!
E~, you used to roller blade to KMFDM and Marilyn Manson? :D)
‘ONE’ by Metallica…a classic
How can you mention true norwegian black metal without mentioning DARKTHRONE??
40 Below Summer. I made an Minidisc of my favorite songs by them. I think I have used that same disc for a year now and it never gets old. Friends always ask me why I look so pissed at the gym - funny.

Did I miss this addition or is everyone too busy humming the theme from The Partridge Family to remember the Hardest “but not so hard I want to stab myself with my belt buckle because everything sucks and it must be true because my favorite band says it does” Band in the last 5 years?
'Cause remember, Anger is good.
Hatered is not.
“Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured”
~ Mark Twain
Here you go, guys.
The Iron by Henry Rollins.
If you want to read “the original” (read, unedited) version, check out “The Portable Henry Rollins” which has some other good stuff for a guy who used to work in an ice cream store.
Dan “Black Flag” McVicker
Thanks to bigrjp59 and biffradbone for posting props mentioning Paul Crook and Anthrax’s Volume 8 (Paul engineered, co-produced and played lead). I am Paul’s brother and lift with a powerlifting team at a gym called Renegade Barbell Club (www.renegadebarbell.com)in Jersey. I also think Paul is an amazing guitar player. He is writing some rippin heavy shit while on the road and recorded 2 songs so far for a future project. If you are interested, Paul’s site is http://www.metalloaf.com.
Sorry to drift a bit off topic. Thanks again.
METAL!
Latest mix tape for the gym included Slayer, BLS, Hatebreed, Meshuggah, Cannibal Corpse, Anthrax (cover of Metallica’s Phantom Lord), SJR, Ministry.
Hmmm, System of a down gets me pissed at “The Man”, while if you are into Rap Wu tang clan can really put you into “Warrior Mode” Same goes for DMX. I generally stick with Taproot or Disturbed, they get me in more of a “break shit move heavy things” type of mood. Of course if you really want to get downright “evil mad” Cannibal Corpse comes to mind.
Hey Dan,thanks, that was a good article on Henry Rollins. Some good quotes were: “The iron never lies to you” “two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds”. That is so true, you either lift it or don’t, iron weight isnt going to lie it’s going to give you what it has and you better take it or leave.
'Ol Hank Rollins tells it straight.
Love his various Sabbath stories.
anyone have the “Memphis 3” benefit album? Covers of Flag tunes. balls out.
Cupcake - kudos for the hatred comments. and for recognizing the crushing groove that is Zakk.
