Lifting & Laughing...

09.14.12

Squat
1x5 @ 45-70-90-110-125
1x3 @ 150
1x8 @ 110

Bench
1x5 @ 65
4x5 @ 95
1x3 @ 110
1x23 @ 80!!! Felt great, actually thought I had a lot more than 23 reps at the 19th rep but then I hit the proverbial “wall”, breathing fell out of sync and everything shut down at the 23rd. Fun stuff! Big thanks to Rick who is building me strong. He pointed out to me, after I finished, that when I first started benching (less that a year ago) that just getting 3-5 reps @ 80 was hard for me. So, I’ve come pretty far but its because of all his help.

Row
4x5 @ 95
1x3 @ 110
1x15 @ 80

Curls
4x8 @ 45

Ran out of time for tricepts and dips.

LOl, I knew what you meant, but yea, I understand. Sounds like you girls have such a great support group, that is awesome. I would love the camaraderie as much as the competition

Great group of people to be around in and out of the gym. Best part is, is that there is NO competition within the group. We all support and push each other, laugh at each others mistakes, and give each other reality checks when needed. Almost as bad as family, with out the commitment;)

Do you lift by yourself? I’ve done it in the beginning when my schedule was different than everyone else’s and didn’t mind it at all but, I would have a hard time going back to that if I had to.

Lol on “no competition”, didnt mean it as a negative, but more of a push out more against your self. More of a competitive motivator, if you will. They can do it, so can I//

Yea, i train alone, I actually like it. A couple people at the gym have asked me to train with them (girl was a BBer and not sure about him) Im just not sure it would get me off what i like to do. Kinda funny too because he was doing legs same time as me, and joined me for the BSS (which he says he never did) it was interesting, and awkward at the same time, one because he “faced” me, so concentrating got kicked up. I AM competitive  so it was “fun” to stay in that pause and watch him get uncomfortable. Im sure once he got his balance down and technique he will be making ME suffer. But I like going at my pace, and Im not a small talker at the gym, I get very serious, so I hate being slowed down.

Haha sorry you asked Huh!!

Interesting topic. I’ll be honest and admit that I’m very competitive: both in training and at meets. I do best training on my own or just with my coach. I also am not a chit-chatter during training and don’t like to focus on what others are doing. That being said, I really enjoy reading about others’ accomplishments and following their lifting journeys as long as I’m outside of the gym. We’re all different. It’s great that you guys have such a supportive group and that it works for you. I, for one, have enjoyed following the progress you all have made. Obviously, Fischer is a very good coach.

Not sorry at all! It’s interesting to hear how everyone else functions. I don’t take what I have going on here for granted. Every moment I can enjoy it is a bonus. I’ve peeked in at both of your logs very quickly (I rarely have time on the computer w/3 kids sharing) and you two ladies are rocking!! Thanks for stopping in here.
