I’m not sure if I’m angry about leaving 495 on the bar or not. Normally I would say rack the weights, but if I saw a skinny old guy hit a double at 495 sans spotter, I think I would gladly rerack his weights for him.
And here comes HeavyTriple, straight outta left field.
Probably should have quoted the post with the video. I guess you didn’t watch it, but that is what happened in the video.
Hes saying that your comment was completely random and had little to no relevance… just taking a jab at you.

The only things that bugged me about that scene:
The wimpy collars
The suicide grip
I actually love those collars we only have 1 pairs in the gym… they’re 1.25lbs each… so its makes it easier to load a lower amount of weight… until I get around to making some micro plates or what not.

Why is it that in films when people are doing weights they always seem to do endless reps lol
I’d also like to see a change from bench presses and curls being the only exercises used in movies. Jesus I’d love to see a good deep squat triple with 405 on the bar in a big mainstream movie.
Now I know it’ll never happen, would just like to see it.
Also, in a mainstream movie I’m sure whoever directed that film would get criticised for putting such a thing in. Don’t they know skwats are bad for your knees?!

Didn’t Stallone lift some pretty impressive fake weights in Rocky 6? For low reps too, I think.
I think some people here were saying those dumbbelss he was throwing punches with were real when the movie came out.
I’m no physicist, but if you were able to make 50lb DBs move straight away from your body like that it’d be really really hard to stop them and bring them back.

maybe because the average person doesn’t really have a realistic expectation of what being strong is. For some reason most people seem to believe you need to do 12 or 8 reps in order to get anything out of a lift. I blame it on those shitty personal trainers who tell people that if you lift heavy your just going to hurt yourself.
