DF, true that.

Phlegmy, do you feel like you’re stronger using the clean grip now, over the crossed arm? Like, can you lkift more weight one way over the other?

[/quote]

Once I made the switch my numbers took a slight hit for a few weeks once I got used to carrying the weight right on my delts and having the bar uncomfortably close to my throat. But having made the switch a few weeks ago my front squat has made much bigger jumps workout to workout than I was making when I used the strap grip. A proper clean grip on the front squat seems to force your body into the right form and allowed me to get super deep.

This and it forces you to maintain flexibility in the shoulders and upper body

Rock and Blaze, what if I doubled up with a beanie AND a backwards ball cap? Or a backwards beanie?

Phlegms and Kalle, alright I’m convinced. I’ll work on using the clean grip from now on, whenever I perform front squats. Thanks.

Today’s workout was good. Felt strong throughout, even when I almost dumped the bar after a rep of rack pulls. I did it on the front of the cage, so I could use a sump stance, and as I came down, the right side missed the catch but the left side didn’t…Right side went down about 6" lower than it should, but I recovered it, and lived, lol. Really rashed up the inside of my lower thighs from the sumo rack pulls, and I created and ripped open a blister in the middle of my palm. That never happens. I’m either doing something right, or fucking something up!

Sheiko 29 Week 2 Day 2

Deadlift to Knee (Sumo)
1x3x225
1x3x265
2x3x315
4x2x330

Bench (Close grip, index on the smooth)
1x6x135
2x6x155
4x6x170 *Triceps were smoking on the last 2 sets

Flat DB flyes
5x10x25s

Rack pulls (Sumo, right below the knee)
1x4x240
1x4x285
2x4x330
4x4x350

Skipped the prescribed “Lunges” to hit an unplanned BBQ at my brother’s house. Hey, free food? I’m on it!

Almost 2 weeks in the bag, and LOVING sheiko 29. If the other programs are anything like this one, I’m hooked.

I like the volume, but still low reps…

Good work!!

AND it helps you stay upright if you have a tendency to fold.

Basically, crossed arm is for bitches - someone had to say it.

I like the looks of this Sheiko, my man. Nice work indeed!

Edit: Also on the clean grip, and not that I have to tell you this as you probs already know or have done your research (knowing you!), but you don’t need to have ALL your fingers under the bar when using clean grip. I normally only have the middle three under the bar, pinkies and thumbs out. Maybe this might help on the wrist flexibility? Or…maybe your gunz are just TOO FUCKING HUGE(!) and you’ll never be able to use the clean grip shrugs Happens to the best of us

ps. watched your vids. Looking good Inky!

Thanks Mims, I think that’s what I like about it. I don’t mind higer volume, it’s the billions of reps at a time that bore me.

Masch, thanks for your added $0.02. Taking the “bitch” route isn’t what I intended, so damnit…I WON’T DO CROSSED ARMS ANYMORE. Fuck. And while I think I knew I didn’t need to keep all my fingers around the bar, I don’t ever attempt it that way. I will though, so thanks. Oh, and it’s not the huge guns issue, YET, LOL

Mid back is SORE today, feelsgoodman.jpeg. The inside of my thighs now look like they’ve been raped by a honeybadger, which is weird, but whatevz.

You would like the inside of your thighs to be raped by a honeybadger. Lololol.

Nice work meng! We ~8 weeks out!! SFW

what? you wore the beanie instead of the headband? I thought we were internet friendzzz?

I tried the headband, I really did, but while doing a moderate job of absorbing sweat, it did ZERO in making me feel more like a badass. The beanie, however, absorbs sweat AND increases badassness within one’s self.

Still <3 me?

Well I’ll be… I guess i’m one of them big bitches that do them with crossed arms then, hahaha. If it’s good enough for Svend Karlson, then it’s good enough for me. Although he’s a ton stronger than me

Haha, and Herc comes in for the save! Shit, I’ll work the clean grip and see if I can “get it”…if not, FUCK IT! That dude’s a monster!

To quote Jesse Rogers at the SPF meet I was at when I asked if my beanie was ok, “you wear whatever the hell you want on your head”

Greg’s gunna wear a Trojan now…hey, whatever helps bruh!

Anyways…looking forward to tomorrow’s work, working up to:

5 squat doubles @ 80%
Bench pyramid up to 80% and back down
Flyes
4 squat quadruples @70%
Suspended GM’s 5x5

and I’ll try to throw in the lunges I missed last time, if I’m not dead. And that’s a BIG “if”…haha

Just something I’ll keep in mind throughout tonight’s benching. Gets a wee bit technical but it makes sense. Read it if you’re bored or curious on how to possibly add a few lbs to your bench. I’ll be filming my benches from the side to watch the bar path and see what’s up.

I can only assume that you are talking about a USC Trojans headband because you know that they’re my favorite team… You know me so well.

I’m definitely gonna cheek out that bench technique article. A few more pounds added to your bench? Yes pleeeeeease

Yes that’s what I meant…

And actually, you should NOT read it, or I’ll never catch up!
