True…my gym is full of men and is very crowded…when you work in with one and can lift what they can, and more, it scares them off so you get a bench or a machine to yourself :slight_smile:

No… one of the lifters from Ottawa and one of his friends. FYI, Saturday isn’t happening in St. Cath’s.

So my training today is of no condsequence (just got some blood moving cuz my back hurts from my max squat Friday still)…however, one of the guys squatted 765lbs with suit straps down. Fucking tank. That’s 8 plates a side. I orgasmed twice.

The club was invited to train/bbq at and with Phoenix. Frenchman was invited however now that I think about it, when I replied-all to the email, I think his email bounced.

Obviously it was Steve. Women around the world got impregnated just from him completing this squat.

I’m all over the place lately, as is my training. I only have today and tomorrow left at work though, so I’m hoping after that’s done I can get everything back on track. I’ll start training during the day so I can conintue with my other priorities in the evening.

Yesterday was “one of those days” so I decided to leave work early and head to the club. I needed people around me that I liked or I was going to lose my mind. I actually got in a much better mood during my drive and scared some of the guys with how perky and chipper I was. I’m pretty sure they were just waiting for me to whip out my gun or something. Anywho, decided to do some raw max testing. Note that my weight is 151 lbs…

Happy with my deadlift. It’s funny that I even went for 335 because that ‘should’ have been my second attempt at my last meet…in my suit.

Anyways, tonight is more volleyball, but I may head into my gym first. I’m starting to feel run down again but it’s more related to everything I’m trying to do I think. Tomorrow will be a day off and Saturday my club is training with another club. Haven’t decided what I’ll do yet… perhaps some raw (or just wraps) squats…

Aw, I liked Court.

Heard there were people asking after me, so decided to take a few minutes before I went to bed to check in.

I got down to Cali just over a week ago. Since then I’ve bought everything I needed for my apartment, moved in, started orientation, met the people who will be my 95 closest friends for the next 2 years, have been reading all my coursepacks, trying to spend a bit of time by the pool after our orientation each day to work on my tan, and have actually already started the process to look for my summer internship next year. Starting Monday afternoon I have a 3.5 day “intensive” course worth 4 credits. The other section has it through the weekend and I get Sunday off, so I can’t really complain, but still. F-ing busy. I’m too busy too really miss friends/family, however I do miss my guy. We ended things before I left, but that doesn’t really mean shit.

Ummm, I’ve been swimming a few time and have been to the gym a few times and am really missing my club. I think gravity is different here… more likely though is my body temp isn’t used to being so high constantly so combined with not having anyone to lift with, it all feels heavy. It may also have to do with the fact that I’ve dropped 7lbs since I’ve been here. Been sitting at 143 the last two mornings. At this rate I’ll be lifting at 60…ugh.

I have two complaints about my gym:

  1. I’m back to being the only chick in the free weight section which means guys are literally stopping and watching me. I’m going to get my membership revoked shortly because I have the desire to throw plates at their faces.
  2. Speaking of plates, they are not round. They are fucking decagons. How the hell am I supposed to deadlift with decagon plates?!?! This is actually a rhetorical question because I’ve already discussed this issue with one of my club members, but still. Such a joke.

That’s all I have time for. Orientation starts at 8am again tomorrow (Sat) morning, so I need to sleep. If you don’t hear from me for a while, don’t be surprised. It doesn’t seem like I will have a lot of time for TN :slight_smile:

I’ve also been thinking of getting my membership revoked (on purpose so I don’t have to buy it out) by chucking plates at people.

Thank you! I am so tired of people who make comments like:Why are you drinking protein shakes you’re going to get fat! Or when your girlfriends are constantly making remarks about you doing squats and dead lifts or heaven forbid a few sets on the bench press!You’re going to look like a man ewww!

ha-ha so little they know! So thank you for this, It’s nice to know there are other girls in this world who aren’t afraid of stepping off the elliptical and getting off their Yoga mats and LIFTING LIKE A GIRL!!!

I’ve always had decagon plates. It means you have to do a fun little dance after every set to make the bar parallel again.
