PT hurts like a bitch now. The doc said the repair was stable and now it’s just a matter of cranking on my arm until I get the ROM back
I need a math tutor
Db overhead 40, 12 (ugly ish), 9. Lat row 70x12 (not to failure , good pump though), 90x12
pause front squat heel elevated: work to 115x3 (could go heavier but not really a good idea) db snatch 50 lb triples, hammer curl 35 x8 (too heavy). Press 5 lb plate with left arm, cuban press w 2.5. Airdyne bike sprint 20 on 30 off x8: 1.5 miles 43 cal
Took the amc 10. Got 10 questions probably 16 to pass
Landmine deficit reverse lunge: work up to +45x5 / light (15) lb bb snatch / 25 lb bb overhead for reps / pause box jumps
Bunch of incline pushups, no pain in elbow. Shoulder felt weird after
Arm to 120/30 active, can get to 123/15 passive. Almost back to normal- ot cleared me for 50 rep sets lol
I can do pushups again! @FlatsFarmer my left shoulder (the bad elbow side) feels fine during pushups but feels like it’s not doing what it’s supposed to on overhead/pull-ups. On supported pull-ups if I just go down the L side I have to actively push down so it’s level with the right. Overhead it feels like it’s drifting up rather than working like the right. No pain at all though. Any ideas, is it just a matter of reteaching how to use it? -thanks
It sounds like you’re right, you just need a little practice “pulling your shoulder blade into your back pocket.” Or like you said, actively pushing your shoulder into position.
Maybe you could try something easy like a 1 arm pulldown with the left for a few easy sets before your pullups to smooth out that motion. Or a few simple 1 arm dumbbell presses before you get into overhead barbell stuff.
If you’re into videos and cues, John Meadows talks about activating your back muscles in this video, start into about :55 seconds in.
Wide pin squat: 135x5. Slow as hell. 115x5 no pause, flew up
Nice soreness in legs
Yeah I tried it again trying to keep my shoulders level and it seems less drifty. I’ll try the back que tomorrow thanks
Once I’m finished with this month- I should actually have time to do some things. Volunteer at the ER, start a tutoring gig, apply to summercamps. Should be dope
As my arm still straighten I guess I’ll be doing legs/conditioning block until it can.
Squat: 5x10 @ 115, good mornings 3 down: 65x8 multiple sets
Incline db (good arm) 11 w 45
Airdyne bike ‘jog’ (not very hard) 3.2 mi 20:08
I think I’m uneven on my squat decent. Right lower back is starting to hurt sometimes
Been having to expend effort to breathe & diaphram pain on and off, goes away with any sort of cardio. Doc says lungs are clear and EKG is normal, and it’s just anxiety (+ some nasal passage inflammation) @whang (this is not medical advice, etc) anything I should watch for that would indicate a bigger problem?
Squat 2x5 @135. Wrote a new progression I’m going to try
Back extension: +10x20, +15x15
Bike sprints: 5 hard 3 medium .8 mi 4:08
2x5, 4x5, 2x5 pause 4x5 pause 2x7 4x7… Up to 4x20 pause. Looks terrible
Applied to a medical summer camp, have a chemistry competition on the 14th. The local hospital only takes 17 year olds which is kind of annoying. AP test prep, internship looking and finally making that tutoring website next
Arm is to 130/10 active. Nearly there ; almost going to miss my OT though- nice lady (aside when she was passively stretching my arm )
50 ish inverted rows, something in my left scapula was popping nearly every rep. no pain though.
Suprising amount of soreness in my left side, but in hindset expected
There was a navy recruiting booth today- apparently if I get accepted to an NROTC program it’s a full ride medical school with 4 years owed. I’m interested
Squat 4x5 135. Solid-not easy or hard, but I swear my right side is getting worked more and I think I’m uneven. Need to record a set soon
Coming down with something
Go for it! One of my best friends( a junior) is in nrotc and says it’s been a very valuable experience. Since he’s a lifter, he got promoted to run the lifting workouts. You might get a similar opportunity
