I see myself bigger in the mirror, to the point where I cut calories because I see my face bloating up.
Then I take a picture and I look so small I’m depressed for the rest of the day. The person in the picture is a different person from the one I see in the mirror. What the hell is up with that?

it must be the mirror. I found one in a store that made everything look wider. bought it and gave it to my sister-in-law!

LOL, but no, I use the same mirror for the selfie. I think it really is just that you don’t really see yourself as you are in a mirror, and somehow the camera cancels out the delusion.
I get the opposite…I stand in the right place with the right lighting and I think I look more jacked than The Rock. Anywhere else on Earth and I most certainly do not.
Get your friends together, take your clothes off and take a picture. It’s the only real way to get an appreciation of how you look. You need the other people to get a reference and it must be the same photos as lighting, camera quality, etc all change the playing field.
Don’t worry if this sounds gay, as long as you don’t look directly at any genitalia, you’re good. Sneaky sideways glances are fine.

I look like a greek god in the reflection of my car and kitchen microwave. Never understood this.

I think part of it is that when you look at yourself in the mirror, there is some amount of motion and softening of surfaces. When I see pictures of myself, I look like a sharp edged grey hound. There is no movement to soften lines.

Those are my favorites too.

Ha ha yeah…tinted windows.
The subway train I take has tinted windows and when we pull into a station I’ll sometimes see a pretty woman waiting on the platform, but then when the door opens she goes from an 8 to a 5.5
