Libido: The Biggest Difference-Maker

Libido is complicated. There are many factors that impact one’s sex drive.

I’m curious, though: if you had to pick one variable that made the biggest difference for your sex drive – namely, something that positively impacted it (i.e., made you hornier) – what would that be?

This could be as simple as “starting TRT” or “getting better sleep.” It could be a drug/vitamin, a different way of training/eating/sleeping, going to therapy, or something totally different.

Whatcha got, fellas?

Cardio and less frequent deadlifting.

Less stress , I always thought hormones but I really think it’s as simple as stress for me personally

This is what I was going to say. Even in my low T days I dated a few girls that just knew what to do, made it exciting, never had any issues then

What do you do to manage stress? I’ve been enjoying reading “The Upside of Stress.”

Overtraining can definitely be an impediment…gotta know when to reel yourself in

Lifting is the biggest thing , I generally workout 6 days a week with a little cardio thrown in if I feel like it

I back off when I start noticing sleep issues or fatigue settling in

Every time.

Doesn’t matter what your Test level is or how optimum your blood work is if the lady in your life isnt hot.

Forget it

Fatigue is very big to me. TRT helps a lot with it, but the times I am tired in where drinking coffee does nothing mentally only physically raising blood pressure and heart rate forget about it.

Which is why I was always impressed with how some dudes can go even after having a crazy party life style in where they only slept 3 hours on the weekend. I really don’t know what the secret is? Maybe its actually the dedicated gym life style that requires me to rest more?

If I wake up early for work, then go out at night and start drinking, I am pretty much a wet noodle at best. I am not even 40 years old yet.

Cabergoline

Only if you have excessive prolactin I believe.

Disagree. I have had my prolactin (along with all hormones) checked and it came in under the midpoint. Caber still made me as horny as an 8th grader again.

I always had good libido and sex drive but if I get too lean and for too long, without running TRT, I crash and libido becomes second to none and johnny becomes just soft. That happened around 4 months ago. Had a blood test and had below range cFT and E2 and TT 12, overall felt ruff af. Added back in calories, Boron 10mg a good multi, gained some weight back and oh boy started getting morning wood and libido went up big time. So its definitely food and training I’d say from my point of view fwiw. Mind you I was sleeping good even with crashed levels, but that did nada for this matter.

Interesting. I take P5P, which is a less extreme PRL controller. Do you know what your PRL is now?

Food makes a big difference for me too; I tend to lose a lot of sex drive when I’m low on calories

Absolutely. It’s a bit like a good pump in the gym, if you on low food and not fed up properly into a session then most likely no bueno, but if you properly fed, calories on point and leading all the way into the session, consistency is key here, then a massive skin tearing pump, at least for me. Same with sex drive. So gotta eat more good food as don’t forget the carbs, which people fear sooo much these days lmao

Interesting. It did nothing for me.

i’ve always read that it will only affect sex drive if prolactin is high.

Thanks for adding in your experience.
