Levrone, the Return

While I’m curious as to how serious Kev really is, a bunch of folks on another site were whining about what he’s actually doing in this video. Obviously this isn’t how Levrone trained back in his heyday, but assuming the benefit of the doubt, I guess it could be possible that he’s simply pursuing a basic level of overall strength and conditioning before subjecting his older body to the types of beatings that were routine back in the day.

Its obviously just a video to generate hype but yeah, lame as fuck.

Honestly, i love Levrone, he’s one of my favorites, but he’s always been boring as hell. I had to unsubscribe from his youtube channel a while ago because i just found him too damn boring to watch when he’s not an O level monster.

I would be very interested to see what he could do if he truly took this seriously, but hope he sees what he can do at the Arnold first before going for the Sandow. Honest question though, I thought that you had to win or at least place high in a major show within that year to be able to compete in the Olympia. Is that incorrect? And if not, it would seem that Levrone would have to enter the Arnold or a similar size show if he wanted to go for the Sandow.
Rumor has it he is training with TBT to prep this year…
Lol! Good one

Levrone was sweet back in the day. I really respected him for training clean after all the Olympia stuff was over though. Oh well, sometimes you gotta just go for it . I wish him luck

I don’t mean to be that guy…but…

he’s not coming back…

also, anyone who has ever met him at a contest has said he was a total asshole.

He can’t get the amount of muscle back in one year that he’d need to be competitive. I don’t care how juiced up he’s willing to get. He’s just too small.

Levrone is pushing 50 - I think he’s what, 48? That makes a comeback especially difficult. In his day he could have shaken things up, but now? Top 10 might be realistic if he pushes hard, though this year’s Olympia is seriously stacked with top names (what, six or seven who have finished top three at least once? plus Ramy? plus Wolf? etc…).

Re: comparisons with Phil… Phil to me has thicker and rounder muscle over all when you look at actual videos of the two competing… but Levrone’s structure is definitely superior… LOL at the synthol comments… seriously, there is nothing to support that contention.

Never noticed that Levrone bears a slight resemblance to Arnold 'til this vid.

lol,… I certainly don’t think Kev’s ever stepping back up on the Olympia stage, not the open class anyway. Is there some slim chance he may be harboring thoughts of a Masters show in the back of his mind? I think that’s what people are hoping when they watch these videos.

There was the series he did a few years back when he actually started up training again, nothing super intense, but much more than the non-training lifestyle he had seemingly adopted. Even without PEDs (another site with a fairly well known podcast subjected him to drug tests - obviously take their credibility however you’d like), the guy has probably some of the best genetics in terms of ‘responding’ when he’s using.

Does anyone remember a former Master Olympia winner named Don Youngblood? He got into training really late, I mean like late 30’s/40’s, but went full bore with his ‘supplementation’. Within a stupidly short period of time, he was standing up there with guys who’d been on the Open Olympia stage a year earlier, and I think on his 2nd attempt, actually beat Vince Taylor (an amazing BBer in his day) for the Masters Olympia title.

Just things to consider I guess. I’m still not 100% convinced myself, but I’m definitely going to follow along.

I remember that guy. Ridiculously wide shoulders. Unfortunately, I also remember him passing away in his early-50s. Not to say there’s a direct connection, but, well… yeah.

As far as Levrone, not to be Billy Buzzkill, but all signs are pointing to no contest, just publicity.

He recently signed on as “Chief Operating Officer” of some new supplement company, with Shawn Ray as “VP of Athletic Marketing.”

Also, there’s no Santa, Bruce Willis was a ghost the whole time, and Ken Waller didn’t hide the t-shirt.

I lol’d. If he did sign up as a supp company rep, then yeah, it’s probably all publicity. I don’t know what that last “comback” video in the thread would indicate, but it’s certainly not a bodybuilding comeback… looked suspiciously like crossfit…

levrone is great and all but he did synthol just like most in the 90s did
they all looked at flex wheeler and followed

This whole thing kinda irks me. I may not know the whole story and someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m under the impression Levrone was a fan favorite, decided to pursue an acting career, turned his back on bodybuilding completely, and is now trying to use his bodybuilding fame to sell crappy supplements now that his acting career hasn’t panned out.

Levrone is no doubt going to go further than ever before in the next couple of months. He’s back for sure

*talking about youtube subscribers, not bodybuilding

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

It is amazing how you learn new shit everyday…like most pros using synthol in the 90’s…which isn’t true…but oh well. What can you do.

Internet rules.

Y’all hyping this cat but where’s the evidence he’s anywhere remotely worthy of half the praise y’all giving him. Lev’ needs to quit the advertising and show the goods. Consider me unimpressed.

He had one of my favorite BB physiques of the 90’s since he had a “small” frame (compared to the other front runners) and I kind of identified with him for that reason. I loved the thickness of his delts and arms too.

I haven’t really seen much of him lately but, even if he’s not planning a comeback and he’s using his former notoriety to make money hocking supplements or whatever, I say good for him. I think we’d all do the same given the opportunity.

Didn’t Levrone start a comeback a year or two ago? I could have sworn I saw a thread about it somewhere.
I hope he follows through with it and ends up looking awesome. I always liked his physique and would like to see him kick some ass.

I hope it isn’t just a publicity stunt.

I’m almost positive I saw him at my gym today working out in the same grey hoodie with the hood up. I asked some young kid next to me if it was him but the kid never heard of Levrone lol but said this guy has been coming every day for past two weeks. He was pressing a million plates on the leg press too. Actually it was like 13 per side for reps.
