Just to clarify, there were two different cases here.
One was the high school, and I don’t think they figured out who brought the bownies in.
The other was at CU Boulder (university) and the charges stem from the two involved feeding the brownies to people without their knowledge of what was in them. So the adults there are being charged with assault and conspiracy for feeding the people something they were unaware of.

I don’t know for sure but if some one gave me drugs I did not ask for I would go to the hospital just to make sure I was OK. I think the kid deserves some serious penalty . he has to learn that behavior is unacceptable

I do not see it as felonious but I do see it as serious . One distinction between alcohol and herb is if alcohol is spiked enough to give a good kick you can smell it let alone taste it . So IMO most people are not victims of spiked punch they are participants
