Lean Pockets?

I like to have them after workouts because of the carbs, and well, because they’re delicious and not terrible for ones health.

I usually have the steak fajita kind.

Its probably a direct cut/paste from some article elsewhere and for some reason it lists weight watchers points on food so people know what they are ALLOWED to eat.

20g of protein is pretty low - are you having a shake as well?

Sure, if you like eating corn syrup after you work out.

You need your taste buds checked out.

No, not if you’re a big fan of trans fats and corn syrup.

I think you really ought to rethink your dietary choices and see a doctor about that malfunctioning tongue. Stuff in boxes that must be heated in the microwave is not good eats, nor good for you.

Eh, I say it depends on your goals at the time. Are you cutting right now? If you are, be stupidly cautious about what you eat. Count calories from gum.

If you’re trying to maintain and just build strength, eat as natural as possible. PWO is the best time, after your Surge to eat something ‘bad’, as it has the least chance of being stored as fat.

If you’re bulking and trying to put some muscle on, eat em up. I’ve recently taken a large liking to Ole lean steak, bean and rice burritos. Surge during my training, 32 oz of skim chocolate milk right after, and two Lean Ole steak burrito’s 1 1/2 hours later. The 2 burritos, by label, have a total of 6 grams of fat, 38 grams of protein and 132 grams of carbs, 12 of which are fiber.

Again, just go by goals. If fat loss is the goal, don’t put anything not found in nature in your mouth. If bulking, don’t eat shit, but don’t be so picky. You’re trying to grow. Even the esteemed, and by me, highly respected Dr. Berardi broke his own rules to put his size on, consuming a pack of bagels with peanut butter on them every day. Talk about your P+C nightmare, lol. Just eat by goals.

Kubo

low in protein, high in saturated fat (relative to total fat), high in sodium, high in carbs. any food with lean in the name will certainly not make you lean nor healthy. that is just marketing so you can justify the consumption of crap (i’m trying to be blunt here, not mean or condescending).

this is a 10% food. there are many better choices one could make. stop looking for accomplices who support your inability to eat clean.

if eating such foods is important to you, you have 4 opportunities per week. i save my cheats for pizza or sushi.

ask yourself this question: would i pay a nutritionist to recommend eating such a meal as part of a diet designed to optimize my health, performance, and results.

Weight Watchers gives a point value to all foods, and their clients are alloted a specific number of points, like 30, per day. It helps people pay attention to exactly how much food they’re stuffing in their faces, but not so good for people who are athletes/strength training/bodybuilding/etc.

Quoted for truth

Jim Gaffigan has some interesting insights on hot pockets.

LOL yes he does. I saw his special on TV where he talked about it, and it was pretty funny.

Didn’t know you could talk about Hot Pockets for 15 minutes and it would be funny.

Is he gonna talk about hot pockets the whole time? woah.

obviously, I cant type in his funny ass voice.

That was the funniest part, the voice!!!

I nominate Jim Gaffigan the official spokesperson for Hot Pockets (as long as he says it in the funny voice)

diarrhea pocket

Jeeeebus, yes, the Jim Gaffigan skit on Hot Pockets was fuckin’ hilarious. He’s one of the best comedians out there.

Hijack over…

As as been mentioned before, while eating for goals is important, you must get past the macronutrient breakdown of foods to really determine whether or not it is healthy. Things such as trans fats, nitrates/nitrites, heterocyclic amines, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, glycemic-index/insulin-index, lack or abundance of anti-oxidants, vitamines, minerals, fat ratios, etc etc etc are all important.

Now yes, thats a lot of shit to consider, minutia, call it what you will - but the closer you get to eating unprocessed stuff, the less you have to worry about that shit down the road. And, if you know how to cook and read damn food labels, you can eat plenty of unprocessed foods with as many or as little calories as you need to hit your goals.

The more ingredients listed, generally the worse it is for you.
