This is a heavily bastardized version of an actual good exercise. Vince Gironda used to have bodybuilders do what he called drag curls, in which the bar was supposed to remain in contact with the body throughout the rep. The shoulders would come back to keep the bar in contact. Pretty much completely eliminates cheating and provides a novel stimulus. I don’t do them much, but they’re a useful addition to your toolbox.
