The original had the corniest cheesiest soundtrack I’ve ever heard I believe. Just plain silly ass music that didn’t quite flow with the vibe of the movie.

Did they speed up the rape scene and set it to Benny Hill music?

Not to ruin it for anyone but was the 10 minute rape scene really necessary? I mean come on that shit gave me ED for like 4 hours. I can understand like including it in the story line or whatever but damn they reeaaallllyyy drug that one out.
I also think that rape scene was a bit much…especially cuz the girl was only supposed to be 17…I dont blame her parents one bit…I probably woulda tortured that last guy a bit more tho…he didnt die as painfully as he should have (dont wanna spoil the movie)…

Watch the real movie.

Then watch I Spit on Your Grave.

Then watch the Cannibal Holocaust.

Then watch the Guinea Pig movies.

Then watch August Underground’s Mortem.

Thank me later.

I bought the first one on dvd since I had never seen it. I was very unimpressed by what the 70’s had to offer in terms of “horror”. I do understand its place though so while I am not degrading the movie, few people today would actually “get it” like i am sure it was intended then.

I haven’t seen this one yet though.

Eh… don’t bother.

I appreciate the old movies, that’s for sure. While I get nothing in terms of “horror” out of the original TCM, Last House on the Left, (original) Hills Have Eyes, Nightmare on Elm Street, etc., you gotta know your roots.

The new one is, really, just another pseudo-‘We’re changing the horror genre, but not really’ Rob Zombie-camp type. Worth 2 dollars for a rental, maybe.
I never understood the allure of the first Texas Chainsaw Massacare, I just remember watching it bored out of my mind. I prefer the Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th variety of horror movies.

this turned gay real fast

In all honesty, I wasn’t disturbed too much by it. I was VERY aware that I was watching a movie.

Luckily it picked up after that. A nice twist and a GREAT grand finale! Very enjoyable IMO.

This was much better written and acted out than the original. One of the faults of the first movie was that none of those people looked like the ages they were acting out…like Justin and his dad. At least the kids looked like kids here and they could act.

I don’t get the hate on this one unless people just didn’t know what the movie was about ahead of time.

You think that actor got a boner when he was acting the rape scene? I mean bec she was bare assed and he was bare assed, so something had to be rubbing.
