I think someone mentioned it earlier but here’s the facebook event for the next dance part at Thomas Jefferson Memorial.
Apparently over 1300 people are attending heh.

There is something WRONG with the people that stand behind a VIOLENT REACTION to KISSING and DANCING! It’s a memorial site, not someones funeral.
Handcuffs! Throwing a guy on the ground and CHOKING him!
Are you people insane?
They questioned the arbitrary rules of their overlords.
They were practically terrorists.

Dancing and kissing are a gateway crime to flag burning and public nudity.
That isn’t even the half of it. If they don’t stop the dancing and kissing they will soon be learning how to fly planes and crash them into buildings and strapping bombs to their chest.
Seriously. Hasn’t anyone seen “Footloose”? Gotta keep the dancing and kissing under control!!!

Look at the video again and try and justify the “resisting offender’s” actions with slamming him to the floor and placing a choke hold on him. Go ahead, give it a shot.
A sane reasonable man diplomatically escorts (or at least tries to) him to the perimeter or off the premises.

Okay, I see where you’re coming from. But this is what cops are like. They have a really shitty job to do and are mostly dealing with scum of the earth and having to respond instantly to dangerous/unpredictable situations. This cop had to get this guy on the ground.
Also, fear often inspires compliance and that choke hold looked pretty mild to me. Perhaps the cop recognised Adam Kokesh too. If this was the case he showed remarkable restraint in my opinion. A resisting Adam Kokesh calls for repeated Tasering. ‘Stop resisting!’ Zap! ‘Stop twitching!’ Zap! ‘Stop convulsing!’ Zap!

They were wearing shirts that read “U.S. Capital Cops.” I’m guessing they don’t see a whole lot of action. If anything it was there inexperience shining through IMO.

If these people really cared about the cause and wanted to protest the decision, they’d each put in 10-20$ into a pot and hire a high-end lawyer with good connections to open an appeal on the case.
The only thing that will happen from 1300 people dancing in front of the memorial is that they’ll waste a bunch of taxpayer money… I’m sure a ton of officers will be asked to show up to keep order, all drawing overtime pay.

They’re Federal Park Police. They have their own heliborne SWAT team, motor unit, K-9 unit, horse mounted patrol, dispatchers and aviators.
From wikipedia:
‘They(applicants to US Park Police) must have at least 60 college credits or 2 years of military service at the time of appointment. Upon completion of training, officers are initially assigned to the Washington area, where the largest contingent of Park Police is located.’

Pig? You mean the guys you call when you can’t handle a situation yourself or you want someone arrested who murdered your daughter or something? The guys that murder peoples’ daughters call them pigs too. You have something in common.
Why did he have to get him on the ground? Because he told him to put his hands behind his back and he refused. Need to get the cuffs on.

And John S. you are quite ignorant about who cops really are. If you live in a small town, then it may be true that your department is a piece of shit, but on a larger scale, cops are good people who got that job because they want to help others. And this bullshit “became cops because they were bullied in high school”… yeah, um, no. Stop making broad generalizations.
Oh please show me all these wonderful cops that are not on power trips.
Are there good cops? Yes. But for the most part Fuck the Police.

No, I think the guys he or anyone will be calling when shit hits the fan is the police, not the “park police”. I guess those are just one small step ahead of the “beach police” that ride bikes and wear shorts. They still have the shorts in common though…

Right, so you’re telling me that a person with his hands in the most vulnerable position, clearly not actively resisting, cannot have his arms manipulated behind his back? The officer (as he showed) was not afraid to use physical force - rather than using both his arms and a bit of leverage to place his arms behind his back, he opts to perform a body slam that could have caused a variety of injuries from bruising to a damaged spine.
What happened last time someone got body slammed on concrete? - YouTube A FUCKING DISLOCATED KNEE.
Even if the body slam was “justified” to “get the cuffs on”, then explain why he then used a finger choke (you know, a manoeuvre banned in most grappling sports because it can crush one’s windpipe with relative ease). Oh sorry… it apparently done to put those cuffs on.

Gee, what if they had just let those 5-7 people dance in front of a statue and let them leave on their own accord?
The US Capitol Cops are just as responsible if not more.
The point isn’t to make social commentary about any one country, or that I give a fuck about the “protest” or whatever it was. The point is that we shouldn’t be giving anyone the right to put their hands on us in this type of non-violent and not at all dangerous situation. If a cop can get away with that bodyslam and choke hold because the guy with the headphones was “resisting arrest,” then what’s next?
I’m willing to have less of the protection the police provide in order for them to have less power. Most people don’t want to do that, and I can see where they are coming from. You can’t have it both ways.

Standard police procedure. If someone refuses to place their hands behind their back they take them to the ground rather than try to manipulate their arms behind their back whilst they are standing. Cops don’t want to end up fighting/grappling with an offender.
I imagine the choke was used to instill fear in the offender in an attempt to indicate to him that he should not attempt any further resistance. As I stated before you can see that this officer is not choking out Kokesh. His hand is merely placed lightly around the throat. He is not attempting to compress the trachea or anything.
The bodyslam is not usual police procedure and it resulted in Kokesh being face up. This may be another reason for the choke. The standard procedure is to bring the offender down in such a way that he is face down on the floor. The arms are then manipulated behind the back and cuffed. Obviously this cop is not familiar with Judo/Jujitsu throws/takedowns or he wouldn’t have taken him down in that way.
