I don’t think AZ is California’s little brother. From what I understand, and I could be wrong, they do not have the wreckless spending beast that we have. I would rather pull anyone off the street and put them in office here, than to keep our worthless legislature.

We have 500 Billion in unfunded pension liabilities, imagine that, 1/2 Trillion for a state. That is what happens when you have people who expand government during a recession. Rather than cut back spending, we have boobs in office who added to it.

Arnold is now proposing cutting 12 Billion from welfare to help with the budget, and people are up in arms about that too. In the eyes of our legislature, it is only the taxpayer who should feel the heat. God forbid some government workers get laid off. They are immune.

This is not the situation I see in AZ.
AZ is at the oposit extreme that Cali is . While being a slight more liberal than the average poster here. Az severely under pays their employees , and it is due to all the cheap labor avalible . I am a little curious how this will all pan out , when they get rid of illegal labor and they have to pay a wage that legal peole will work for , I believe it will be some what of a shock.
This might be my biggest complaint, or in my top 3 complaints about illegal aliens. People think the are getting cheap labor when using them, but in the end you pay more. Illegals make babies, they get sick, they get welfare for the kids. When you add all that up, it’s MUCH more than paying a legal worker to begin with.

I think market principles will work the problem out. Paying higher wages for the employer means less profit for him. He also cannot jack up the price too much, or no one will buy his product. This is what I call the law of Ebay. On Ebay, as a seller, you have to price your item competitively with other sellers, otherwise it won’t move.
Just so you know, if everyone in California was you, I wouldn’t have a problem with it. Just most people in Cali seem to be a little off their rocker.
I should probably give everyone this warning. People are leaving California, and they are headed your way, with their liberal agenda. They have literally poisoned the state with big government, huge taxes and regulations, and wreckless spending.

Take notice, because they will fuck up your state too.

So do you think the Governor, whoever that may be, will put the national guard at the border? I hope they do. I want a more secure border.
No, I think it is a talking point to get elected. I think with our budgetary problems and groaning by the Hispanic people, the border will not be secured by any governor running. Whitman lost her 50 point lead when she came out against the Arizona law, and now Poizner is in the runnings. I think Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown is done like dinner, if he is the Democrat running, the Republican will win.

If you get a chance to listen to John and Ken on KFI, I suggest it. They are on Monday-Friday 2-7pm, on station 640 AM.

Your right Maximus I work as a mailman in Grand Prairie Tx. A nice little town south of Dallas. I see a bunch of people from California, alot of bostonians and chicago folks moving here. So once I get to know my customers I ask them why they move here? And the majority of the time they said it was high taxes and highly priced property. Like you I worry if they learned there lesson but I sigh because usually there’s a OBAMA decal on the rear bumper of there cars.

I wanted the world to see your talent. People kind of like it. I’ll be adding shit to it soon! Classic Avatar can always come back.

Why would you call AZ a dump my friend?
Is that a loaf of wonder bread on your head ?:)
Yes, the bread of champions!

I am telling you, they are going to fuck up your state as well. Call me crazy, but they want more and more entitlements for people. We have 12% of the country’s population, but 35% of the country’s welfare, this is not coincidental.

It funny how real issues that we face like this on border states will tear down political walls in a heartbeat.

Tonight is the Lakers-Suns Game, and immigrant groups plan to protest Coach Phil Jackson for his actually reading the law. He mentioned how it is basically the Federal Law, with some teeth to enforce it. Also, the LA City Council wants the Lakers to wear “Los Lakers” jerseys tonight in support of protest for the law. I really hope the Lakers stay out of this shit and just play the game.

The bill does state that a cop can’t use race as a sole criterion, but the problem is that there’s nothing else to judge it by! Tell me, what does an illegal immigrant look like?
What does a drug dealer look like?

What does a sex offender look like?

what does any criminal look like?

Is it racially profiling Irish people to ask a guy driving if he’s been drinking? Is it okay to ask a guy to take a breathalyzer because his speech is slurred, but not ask for the ID of someone with a foreign accent? Why? Isn’t breathalyzing a guy for slurred speech biased against people with a speech impediment? That is taking your train of thought to it’s logical ends.

Is it racial profiling to put more cops on the street in high crime black neighborhoods?

Surely you are willing to acknowledge there are ways to detect crimes beyond appearance. I also have a huge problem with calling it racial profiling. If anything it would be profiling based on speech, dress, and overall appearance. Having a Mexican accent isn’t a race. Illegal isn’t a race.

By the same token, is it “racist” to ask for ID at the Mexican border? Is it “racist” against Canadians that we do it to them now to?

I think I was racially profiled when I came back from Canada to the US. They asked me for my driver’s License and did not believe I was from Texas. I had to tell the guy who the quarterback of the Houston Oilers, and the Dallas Cowboys were. Gives up my age a bit I know. I was even asked if I had a horse and an oil derek in my back yard. I was racially profiled. I should be able to sue the government. I want my piece of the pie that Obama has promised.

I was racially profiled, I was asked for my ID when using my credit card. I can’t believe the level of discrimination I was subjected to. He even looked at me funny with my foreign first and last name.

Looks like Janet Napolitano hasn’t read the law either LOL…

These are the people responsible for our nation’s security LOL ?

Arizona dares L.A. to carry out the boycott.

Of the people I know, everyone is in support of the bill. No one is boycotting AZ and they think it is crazy. If nothing else I am glad the protests are keeping this issue in the news. I want the federal government to step up and take some responsibility and if they wont they need to step back and let the states do what they have to do to secure their borders.

I agree. All the AZ law does is inforce the Federal Law that is still active. They do nothing above and beyond what the Federal Law allows.

Exactly. It seemed like an elephant in the room kinda thing with the cops not being allowed to inquire about citizenship.

That makes you a sanctuary city, county, or state. I live in one, Houston. From what I understand about the law, if a citizen has proof that there is a memo or statute put forth by say a mayor or police chief that tells officers to not do what the state law says then that citizen has the right to sue the city to get the memo/statute reversed. I wish they would pass this law in Texas. It seems like a really good, well thought out piece of legislation. AZ is trying to defend their citizens. It is their right to do this.

It looks like Arizona is calling out the LA Mayor and City Council on their threats.

The stupid LA govt forgot that LA gets 25% of it’s power and 30% of it’s water from Arizona. AZ has threatened to shut off the water and power to LA, if they continue their threats of boycotting. If you guys don’t hear from me in awhile, you’ll know why LOL.

Personally, I would love it if AZ shut off the power, they need to teach the LA politicians to shut-the-fuck-up about all this stupidity already.

LMAO. Talk to you in a couple of weeks when the power is turned back on. Hopefully your showers will work so the smell does not get all the way over to Texas.
