Since L-Carnitine helps turn fatty acids into energy I was wondering would this effect bulking at all. Should I take it while I am trying to gain weight?
Oral carnitine ingestion will not increase muscle carnitine concentration on its own.
One more recent study has found beneficial effects when consuming l-carnitine-l-tartrate in conjunction with large amounts of carbohydrate. Even then the effects were small. Thus it’s probably more beneficial to spend your money on better food than unproven supplements.
