L-Carnitine Injections - A Learning Experience

pre. all pins first thing in the morning.

Not on purpose, but it often works out that way.

What were your injection sites? asking because I’m running low due to ED TRT pinning… combining this with ED L-Car injections is going to leave me feeling like a pin cushion

delts, ventroglute, dorsoglute, vastus lateralis, rectus femoris

I know you’ve seen this. a lurker may find it useful

The authors are comparing the studies that made their screening cut:

To the ones that did not:

As already shared by another member, this paper only discusses oral adminstration. Not a lot of work on IM/SQ method of administration.

Alright so a handfull of glute shots later and virtually no pain.

Did a Vastus Medialis shot this morning and suffering the consequences. @throwawayfitness did the injections ever end up hurtingess over time? Or did you just get used to it? Was there anything that could be done to ease this? It feels like a big knot in the middle of my thigh

Also, i need bigger syringes if I’m to follow the 200mg/55lb protocol, so ive ordered some 27ga 1/2" Luer Locks with 3cc syringes… may end up combining both Test C and L-Carnitine into a single syringe as I’d rather not be poking 2 holes in myself daily. Did my best to find Low Dead Space 3cc syringes but good lord are they hard ti find.

Injection site:

I sit down at my desk and go from the top or the side. Doesn’t hurt, just feels weird. Can make me twitch.

I was afraid to try this. afraid the oil and water won’t mix and will be in a pocket under my skin. until they absorb

This is a fair point, but I’ve also heard it argued that it’s better to combine oil and water compounds as they wont mix. Wasn’t sure about it, but it sounded fine. The oil wouldn’t actually absorb into the muscle anyways as we’re mostly water - it kinda makes sense that doing mixed oil/water injections wouldn’t be a problem… also makes sense that they would be lol. Guess I need to do more research.

Hit both shoulders with L-Car and left shoulder was a mixed injection with .13ml T dose - no issues. Shoulders feel a little sore/numb, but not too bad tbh.

Dorso Glutes: 10/10
Vastsus Medialus: 3/10
Shoulders: 8/10

I’ve mixed oil (test) and water (HCG) in the same shot without any obvious issues. There’s a post on Excelmale with a YouTube clip.
I thought about putting test and BCP157 in the same shot but decided against as the peptides are meant to be soo fragile it may degrade it?
I plan to do HGH soon and will be looking to do together with the test but will read up a lot more beforehand for the possibly substance interaction rather than the carrier.

TL/DR
It doesn’t appear that the oil and water mix is an issue of itself, but could be depending on what’s being mixed?

Have been mixing test and L-Carnitine in the same syringe for about a week now - no poor interactions to report.

Tried Ventro Glutes this morning… may even enjoy these more than Dorso Glutes.

LOL. The insulin needles I order have the slogan ā€œcomfort you can feelā€. A nice comfortable needle haha.

Honestly I was struggling to find a syringe that could hold the volume I needed… I’m not a particular fan of needles (nice combination with ED pinning ) so bigger needles make me get all antsy.

I started TRT with 27g 1/2" 1ml insulin needles, which was fine for just test. When I started adding in L-Car at 1.5ml/day, I needed a bigger syringe. Come to find out, bigger syringe = bigger needle! I wasn’t happy… Best I could find was 3ml syringes and 27g 1/2" needles with Luer Locks

Anyways, I can definitely ā€˜feel’ my L-Car injections, but at least the small gauge needle makes it a little more tolerable. The injections take like a minute and a half though with that kind of volume - it’s 1.63ml per shot when combined… lots of fun lol

I like the 27 gauge 1/2" needles the best out of what I have tried. Smaller than that and filling the syringe becomes to time consuming for me (I am probably a bit impatient).

Same. I’m considering getting some larger Luer Lock needles for drawing, I just haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

Lat injection went well. A little sore afterwards and kind of an awkward position to get into (because I’ve got broad shoulders and T-Rex length arms) but I’d rank this just under ventro glutes.

Bit of a thread resurrection here. I’m crossing the injection barrier with l-carnitine and had some questions. I’m posting here because I don’t know that it’s the same as oil based injecting.

When you guys do shoulders, do you/can you rotate heads of the delts?

Should I try to avoid hitting a muscle right before training it? (especially since this is supposed to be pre-workout)

@Andrewgen_Receptors how did usage end up turning out? Are you still using it?

So I was using pharmacy grade l-car and it was pippy as hell.
The UGL stuff i bought was far less painful and higher concentration.
Now i just brew it myself because it’s very easy to make at 600mg/ml.

You can technically pin it in fat, but id do SubQ before training with carbs. Do it daily.
I love the stuff and still take it every day.

If you have no problems pinning into different delt heads, do that. My front delts dont like it very much, but side delts are happy with it.
You can also mix it with your oil based injections, but you may have more PIP like that. Up to you.

Let me know if you have questions

This is pharmaceutical. I’ve done exactly one injection (ever, not just of l-carnitine) in my front delt (largely because that seemed the easiest place to reach) and didn’t have issues. Virtually no pain. It did take a bit for the feeling of the fluid to go away though and I don’t know that I’d want to train the muscle just after.

At the beginning of the thread you seemed to have issues with subQ. I think I’d rather do that, but are you doing it now because you aren’t using the pharmacy stuff?

Well, at the time i was SQ everything and new to injecting. This was written in my newbie days of mere TRT.

Ive moved to IM everything except peptides because SQ just cant handle large volumes.
That and a bad IM shot is sore for a few days, and a bad SQ shot is welted for months.

What dosage are you running?

The prescription is just .5 ml (250mg) 5 days a week.

I went ahead and tried subcutaneous this morning. It burned quite a bit for a couple minutes, but I didn’t feel it at all after that.

I kinda won the lottery on natural test even at 42. I’m just trying to do everything to maximize what I have, low dose tadalafil and the carnitine.
