L.A. Fitness Story

Curling in the squat rack effects me in no way whatsoever. As long as it’s not taking up the ONLY squat rack, or it’s not taking anymore than 10min. I really don’t care.

The only big guy that curls in the squat rack at my LA fitness is strict curling 135+

And as big as he fucking is he can do whatever the hell he wants to.

that said, make friends with the LA fitness staff if you’re at a cool location. There might be some male/female douchebags that come in but generally the staff is cool.

We had a jump contest last time I was in there, normally you’d probably get in trouble jumping on their yoga step box-thingies.
They let me kick the heavy bag even though there’s a sign not to.

IMO if you’re so worried about what other people are doing that you even notice some dudes curling in the squat rack and it fucks up YOUR day so much that you HAVE to come on the internet to post about it to get it out of your system…

Then you really need to get laid or get a vaporizer, some nice cannabis indica and chill the fuck out.

Life’s way too short to worry about that shit. I honestly couldn’t tell you who the fuck is in my gym other than when i’m walking in and walking out. Its the time I can be selfish and focus on ME and MY training.

Fuck them.

I’m just a normally very high strung person…and I have a girlfriend that I have sex with very regularly…so it’s not that. As far as marijuana…no joke I get an anxiety attack almost every time I smoke…alone or with people…different strains…doesn’t matter…I get horrible anxiety from weed. And it didn’t fuck up my training…or else I would have left the gym?

It wasn’t something that was bothering me so much that I just HAD to vent…I thought it would be taken for what it is …an ironic situation that seemed to fit in with the other stories or complaints that are all over this site as means of entertainment.

Your post would have been better placed in one of those pre-existing threads.

And you are a bitch for quitting the gym over a relationship.

It was a combination of things, but if I’m a bitch to you, then I’m a bitch to you. It was the first serious relationship I was in, I had an injury in the gym, I had just started college, I gradually became less interested, and then a car decently serious car accident cemented the notion of me not going. Weak. School girl weak.

I curl in the squat rack. If you can tell me a better way to barbell curl heavy without a squat rack, I’m all ears. Hypocritical, I know, considering I too have posted a rant about squat rack curls. I could give a fuck less about sounding hypocritical if its going to affect my progress.

Here is a novel idea…use the extra .01cals of energy, reach down just a couple feet more and pick the back off the ground into an upright position…curl…bring the bar back down to the ground in a similar fashion. I do 135 for 8-10 reps and I simply deadlift it off the ground…and proceed to curl. There is no reason to use a squat rack or power rack, I’m sorry. This is why there is a thread dedicated to the idiocracy of this practice.

You once lost interest in lifting, have a two year layoff, and now you can curl your bodyweight?

that extra couple of feet means the difference between an extra rep when you are going to failure, so no thanks.

was wondering about that…

Yea just about…within 7 months time actually. As well as 325 squat, 405 deadlift, 255 bench…7 months time.

Mediocre. Stop being a whiny bitch though.

Pricks like you get away with stuff like that because most people behave civilised, even when provoked. What happens when you meet another arrogant prick like you?

Not being able to squat because some dufus is curling in the only rack, is seriously going to hurt some pricks progress. So he’ll just take a db and smack you on the back of the head with it.

How big are you mr. Aristotle when your lying on the ground in a pool of your own blood? And how will this affect your progress?

So prick#1 is carted of towards the ambulance, prick#2 is hauled of by the cops. Finally the squat rack is free for me to squat in.

Arrogant pricks tend to get along quite well. Something about mutual respect…

My retaliatory cheap shot: civilized people tend to know how to spell.

I seriously doubt that the ten minutes I spend occupying the squat rack, when others are typically open, will ‘seriously hurt some pricks progress’. Good try though.

BTW, smacking someone on the back of the head with a DB does not sound very civilized. In fact, it sounds like something an ‘arrogant prick’ would do. Furthermore, if you do in fact imagine yourself hitting other people in the head with DBs, then you my friend have some serious issues.

Moot point. No one makes me bleed my own blood.

I don’t know … anyone who quotes Dodgeball: A true underdog story in a retort or rebuttal is less likely to be much of an arrogant prick than someone who fantasizes about smashing someone in the back of the skull (or curbstomping which I’m sure has be fantasized about by SOMEONE) with a dumbbell. Even if they are quoting White Goodman.

failed post :frowning:

This is why people are busting your balls for starting ANOTHER thread on this practice…NOT because you’re new and not a vet, but because you had to be special…

How am I new lol…because I don’t make 5 posts a day every day and have a huge post count? I have been a member since 2005…I wasn’t making a reference to tenor on this board…I was making a reference to nut licking people who are big and thinking people who aren’t should just stfu. Point taken about posting it in one of those already made threads…no point taken about being new on here. I have contributed a good amount of helpful, informative posts on the steroid section.

Mediocre is along the lines of average…and I’m sorry it is in no way average to get those numbers at 160lb bodyweight within 6-7 months. Mediocre on this board sure…in comparison with others that have clearly been training longer or have stayed consistent for years, but no mediocre as far as strength gains go within 6 to 7 months time.

haha enough about all that, sick dodgeball quote Big Aristotle!

Gee, perhaps that’s why I called him prick#2

You bleed someone elses blood. Cool trick.

Maybe they wanted to curl more weight than you were squatting?
