KS MAN and Others, My Update!

Jesus H. Gonzales… Get a new doctor… Now.

Thats funny but then my doctor said he’d never heard anyone going from overly aggressive to calm before either.

-Its easy enough to say get a new Doc, but I will probably just find another of the same. She at least got me a script for test. Its a start. I also was extremely excited “happy” when she took the second blood test. I was so glad that finially I was going to get some help and TRT. COULD THIS HAVE MADE MY TEST LEVELS GO UP ON THE SECOND TEST???

-Can I expect to feel like crap in my third and fourth week?

-KS can you point me twards some articles, web links or literature that I can show her?

-Maybe I will experiment on my own if she does not comply

Young men produce around 10 mg of test per day or 70 mg/day. With 100mg of injected test cyp or eth, after your body removes the ester groups from the test cyp/eth, around 70mg of test remains. So 100mg/day is a normal T replacement dose that does not increase T above normal levels of younger men.

Do young men routinely beat people up?

Ask you doctor to produce a single shred of [published] evidence that T increases anger in physiological doses.

Also point out that response to TRT is determined by FT or bio-T. As men age, SHBG keeps increasing. Older men need higher TT numbers to attain useful FT or bio-T numbers. SHBG bound T cannot activate T receptors. Older men actually need higher TT numbers than young men.

Men with low T [or elevated E2] have short tempers and outburst because their brains cannot work right. TRT can impart calm determination and tolerance. Men with low T can also end up focusing on the bad stuff instead of the good stuff; that does not help social relationships.

KS do you have a typo? 70mg a week and 100mg a week?

Also were can I find written info on what a physiological dose is. On the test c bottle I have made by phizer it says 50-400 to be administered every two-4 weeks! Maybe I can show her that?

Not a typo. Younger men typically make 70mg of testosterone per week. 100mg of injected testosterone ester [cypionate or ethanate] gets converted to ~70mg of testosterone.

When the test ester is absorbed from the pocket of injected oil, the ester group is removed and the result is the delivery of bio-identical testosterone.

The product info for testosterone needs to be FDA approved and current into is from the deep stone age. As a generic, it would be costly to update the product information with the FDA, so its a piece of crap.

100mg per week is the physiological and will take many to around TT=800. Some guys metabolize T at a high rate [rare] and need to take 200mg per week.

As SHBG levels increase with age, TT numbers are sort of useless. Some docs only check FT and dose T to achieve high youthful FT levels. My dose is now 175 increased from 125.

An old guy can have high youthful levels of TT and FT can be less than needed for a good response. Note that degraded metabolism and degraded T receptors can require higher than youthful FT levels. When I see people talk about the value of a TT baseline from when they were young, I do not get excited. An old FT baseline would be more valuable. But FT levels in natural guys does vary from hour to hour, so a solid number is not available. If one’s T production rate never changed with age, ones TT level would steadily increase tracking age driven increases in SHBG as most T is SHBG bound - not bio-available for anything other than clearance by the liver.
