you’re being sarcastic right?
I’m sure he wasnt. You’ve seen the amount of unqualified advice given on teh internet. I dont think legacy was offering that as advice, but i’d be willing to bet there is some post, somewhere, with someone dismissing his lifts and saying they’d rather see less weight with good form
I thought everyone would understand what I was saying. KBC, at least you understand.
Haha, in one of his other videos (can’t find it now) he pulls like 880 lbs or something similar, locks it out and holds it while he says “I’ve fucked bitches that weigh more than this” in latvian

i kinda agree, not that his form sucks 'cause obviously its working for him, but that he hardly uses any leg drive, his pulls are almost stiff legged.

Almost stifflegged? Take a good, long look at that again because I think your eyes are deceiving you.
i read an article in which he explained that he used to pull more from a squat position and he stalled out and switched styles and was able to utilize his leverages and strengths much more thus getting a bigger dl so it works for him.

If my back squat is 100+lb below my deadlift, where are my legs supposed to get the strength from to suddenly squat 100 lbs more while deadlifting?
Especially considering that I’m starting form a dead stop and on the positive, instead of the negative?
Obviously there are several factors involved here, limb-lengths etc, but that is something to consider.
I have no trouble turning my Sumo Dead into what is basically a deep squat with the bar in front as long as I’m not pulling much more than 80-85% or so of my max, which is roughly what I can back squat. Should be noted that I’m built for pressing, not pulling (or squatting).
But going beyond that: My hips simply rise first without the weight rising much with them, and then I stiff-leg things up. The strength is simply not there in my legs… But the low back can stay arched and the glutes pull the weight up thanks to years of heavy rack pulls far in excess of my squatting numbers…
Plus of course the bar position is different from the squat, and I’m starting on the positive too, so even if the two lifts are close that still doesn’t mean you can squat the weight up while pulling, especially if your ROM is somewhat longer…
The body simply tries to get the weight up with whatever can get the job done, and that will affect the way you lift.
Edit: damn quote function. Guess whenever the quote commands are placed around a (youtube) link, something goes wrong?
