Im not quite 35 yet, but close. I thought I would ask this question here.
Do you guys recommend knee sleeves for squatting and leg work? How much difference does it make? How do you use them?
I have no real serious past history of knee injuries, just a bit of patella tendonitis. I dont squat heavy at the moment, but I do squat 2-3 times a week at about 1.5x body weight.
I dont think you could go wrong with TK Sleeves, they keep your joints warm and can also be used as elbow sleeves. Only issue I have with them is after a while they smell like death and will tear. They are generally 35 bucks for a pair…Rehbands are best and from what I hear last forever and really keep your joints warm and both offer some but not much support. Rehbands are about 35 for each sleeve not a pair
I like them but believe the benefits are more psychological than anything for me. They do keep the joint nice and warm. And contribute to the feeling of “tightness.”
I have a pair of Rehbands. I use them often and they do smell like a 5-days-dead seal. They do not contribute at all to my lifting poindages, but they do keep the joint warm and well lubricated so that I don’t have any knee pain while lifting.
Thats fine, but after you turn 35 you’ll have to lose the “tweet” and change to “squack”, or “rodger”, “over and out”, “copy that”, or just a plain ole “thanks”.
