Well, as strong as you are I think I would check and see when the next meet is in your area. Get a fixed goal. Go in as a 181, set records, rule the house… All that jazz.
I wont be breaking any records ![]()
I picked up a compy of Eric Cresseys maximum Strength- it seems a good fit for me
corrective/preventitive stuff, with a good strengh training program.
there is a good combination of speed work,
unilateral work and mobility, 4 days a week,
need to figure how this is gonna look
kmc
Keep me posted. I tell ya, My shoulders were getting so bad I couldnt buckle a seat belt. I had to use horse liniment just to lift. Got the foam roller and a tennis ball. With a little help from some of his vids on youtube I can move again. In part thanks to you. So keep the info coming.

That is one reason I picked his book/plan
he is all about the rehab and he is like my size- except he is elite at 165 … ![]()
Its 4 days a week every other day,
I want to see if I can do it M,T, off TH,FRi off off

I look like I have a little muscle nothing crazy I don’t think I look too pumped up or anything.
I think the 180 is water I feel sluggish this week. Usually I’m around 177 in gym clothes 3 or 5 pounds make a big deal when your kinda short.
I should get with the program and post some pics/vids.
I wouldnt want to get over 185 unless I could stay lean- and not put on too much fat.
holy shit did I start a bulk/cut thread?

Just imagine a fire hydrant with feet and thats me. I have a couple videos I will try to post again Wed night when my wife is at work. She thinks its weird I want to post a video so I have to wait until shes not around.
Also, the Wendler 5/3/1 could be bent to any exerice. You could replace deads with cleans and squats with OH squats or bench press with dips, etc. An for ass. exercises you could do single leg stuff or whatever. I think his program very flexible.
Thanks for the 531 advice, seems to be very very popular with a ton of different kinds of lifters.
I will try this Eric Cressey program- I got the book it has far more bench and squat then I do now so its perfect.
It would be the first time I have a schedule
where as now I am making it up as I go along.
That is a good point about the ass. work- picking things I like to keep it fresh.
as for lookig like a strong firehydrant
its not such a bad look, mega functional
I look like a skinny dude with some med sized traps and xtra large fore arms.
I need to get with the video thing too.
Popeye arms it is.
Programs can be awesome, less thinking and more motivational time. Good luck kmc.
thanks people!
I do indeed have popeye arms there is only about a 1/2" difference between my upper arm and forearm they are both very close to 16"
I am at the weekend place this week trying to get a bunch of projects going or finished
Are the weights heavier in strange gyms?
probably not.
this is the gym I have been too with sensay’s soundtrack and busted up crazy gear… I dont mind the gear but the bars are for shit I Like bars with collars that spin.
these did not so no OH squats etc.
Senseays music playing here,
bob seger, journey , charlie daniels, and mountain, so strange, I ignored my own ipod and listened maybe that is why my squat sucked.
4.20.09
here is what went down today
mobility warm up,
a bunch of leg , shoulder stretches ytwli
hanging leg raises 2x10 feet to face
squat*
135x10,225x5,275x5,315x2,315x3
275x5,225x15**
front squat from pins paused ATG**
135x5,185x3,225x1,205x3,205x1,1,1

GHR out of lat machine

Hanging leg raises (more) feet to face
3x12
** I LOVED squating from pins/bars
I set the pins up at ATG so I did these from the absolute bottom, paused.
these kicked my ass.
kmc
monster leg work, K. I dont think I could get started at the bottom with a front squat, I suck so bad at them.
i like having a program to follow, especially a proven one. You can’t go wrong with Cressey’s stuff, he is a seriously strong guy. If you ever feel the need to get jiggy with it, you can always take some heavy singles, or go crazy on reps on your last set.
Wow, how could you go wrong with music like that playing?
Solid workout KM.
Nice leg workout kmc. I’ll have to try that pins set ATG approach. Sounds like a killer
Great workout. Solid show on the squats. I’d work on that right hand for sure. Work hard and play long!
Thanks people
I might have set the pins too low these kicked my ass. I had to settle for small weights
these rock

If you have the flexibility use it. Great leg work.
That leg workout makes me tired just looking at it-- nice!!!
Great squatting (back and front) too!
How do you do the GHR’s on the lat machine? I’m having trouble visualizing that.
Thanks eco!
And thanks Steely, I am already feeling my glutes, are trashed.
for GHR I do them like this…
or I use the smith machine and a bosu ball,
kneel on the ball- locky my legs on the bar
or what ever is available.
kmc
Those are both great ideas for GHRs - neither one of which I would have come up with on my own.
Thanks for the tips.

Is that why your ass hurts today? You really look a lot younger than 37 in that video. I wouldn’t call those Popeye arms so much as stick arms but I guess it’s all a matter of perception ![]()
Good start on Max strength. I’m still working on modifying it for my special snow flake purposes.
