Nice job on the front squats.
I bet if you modulate your volume you can end up hitting some bigger numbers.

Thanks guys…
this particular YMCA has all the elements to be hardcore
bad music, chalk, beat up gear.
but really a better bar would clinch it
there is another gym in town more expensive
but has 140 lb db;s this one is free because I go to another y
Skid I think if I felt safe training I would push it harder. today I missed one of the 275 reps and missed racking it. it landed on the pins when I bailed
and it was no big thing.
when finances are a little better I will just join another gym
I do intend to outfit the garage/barn here at the weekend shack with at least some squat stands and
some plates bumpers if I can.

The good old Y. I was a member a life time ago. It was great when I worked in the isolation logging camps. With no fixed address I would end up taking days off where every the first flight out was going. There’s a Y every where.

And by bad music, do you mean the Village People?
Yes and Yes…
I can describe the gear…
I did not get close enough to any v-jay-jays to see the said hairs.
and yes from jackson 5 to jethro tull
and billy joel bad gym music was present
there are several racks of dumbels that range from old skool york blob , hex head,
clearly home-grown welded with revolving collars and some chrome jack lalanne branded
25’s.
there is one entire rack of db’s that
are unlabled and really look the same-
could they be 60’s 80’s 90’s who knew
they did have plenty of orphaned pairs.
so you would have a pair of 85’s with one hex and one plate style.
there was a universal in a corner
complete with like 6 or 7 stations
the pull down station that sounded like
donkey and 40lbs felt like 400lbs.
there is an incline bench that was reupolsterd in some kind of “leather” that had cigarette burns and the seat was not secured at all just waiting for somone to bust their ass
some of the mirrors were tinted broze
and some were tinted smoke
none of the upholstry matched even the newer pieces the colors ranged from orange to neon green to black croc.
the leg press squeaked and moved side to side as it went up and down
when I say it moved side to side I mean like a few inches
the sign above the water fountain that said
please dont use , the water is rusty
prevented noone from partaking.
the people were regular people, some kids
who where on the big side
a dude who did some deadlifts
two guys who groaned out loud while doing kickbacks
nothing crazy
except the kid with his legs crossed doing
decline in the smith machine with 365, who’s range of motion was 1/2 an inch.
normal gym people
they did have chalk in little plastic bowls
and they did have automated paper towel dispensers its all about priotities
however it was super clean super cheap
and only marginally dangerous.

Gaaroovy. I would love to go there and get an acid flashback by just walking in the room.
And I’ve never dropped acid.

If I was doing tricep kickbacks or aerobics I would.

the city is so different now.
All kidding asside it was a dump and I had a great work out, I could care less about the surroundings, and yes I am only thinking about what im lifting-doing etc.
And really the people are nice enough and working hard.

My family owned a salumreia called J&J directly across from the front doors of the church.Enzo’s was on the corner and Tuta-pasta was there as well.Last time I was home they were all gone.We eat alot of italian food down here and it is nothing like the olive garden!!!Forgetaboutit!
Hey bro nice pull too.
Great pulling day.Training is looking strong. You gonna hit a powerlifting meet?
