KM'c Black Irish Bastid 3.0

Thought about buying the magnificent mobility DVD, between the pin’d thread here and your review sounds like it’s unnecessary at this point.

Admittedly I scanned through to catch up but have you had a chance to squat in the Adidas yet?

Hey G-

magnificent mobility is good- but if you have ever played soccer or football
its allot of those drills

overall Cressey and Robertson have a solid product I downloaded a bootleg from somewhere.
FMS - im not sure which one is that.
Hey Peaches says you are on the + with Dday and myself.

Functional Movement Screen. It was mentioned in the mobility thread, thanks.
Make sence on the Mag Mob, i hate when i get a dvd and it is drills that have been around for a while, renamed and packaged as something new IMO

I like the greek yogurt shake but I’m going to pass on the ass cookie.

I bought MM when I was a newb and it was great then, but if you have a little bit of yoga experience and have gone through the mobility thread it’s going to be a disappointment. There’s nothing ridiculously new on there. I don’t want to knock it though, it’s a great product for what it is.

wow all this traffic-

easy ones first people

German MM is a great product- it puts the drills together in an easy to follow way.
however some nosing around on the web and a good list of what works-
you have all the essentials there. and they do good job explaining them and its well produced.

that being said- its mostly familiar territory

ahhh a screening- if you can find someone who is good - I say do it.
I was lucky in college and when I got to ‘play’ at the OTC they had some very very good people
that and if you spent as much as I have spent on chiropractic you can learn allot.

Dday- I did squat in the adidas shoes on monday- just no vids worked up to some front squat singles at 295
they help allot going to squat or something again later today. I will take some video

I want to try OH squats and some other fake O-lifts.

DJTH I am on the google + but really I use the interweb far far too much-
I do like the google+ over facebook so far.

Joe- it was a Huge ass, cookie- not a frenchie ass cookie - just a big old cookie.

I could really go for a Dr.Mascherano cookie.

hai! I thought it was a genetics acronym

I promised the wife I would not drag Rowan to any kind of wrestling or Judo.
crazy right???
I mean what do you do when your dad wrestled in college and has a BB in judo??

right now he is too small- but in another 6 months I would be sooo tempted.

he can already do full on neck bridges, and little butt scoots and he can pummel
in his crib he does lots of back arches its crazy.
and loves to wrestle
and genetically he doesn’t fall far from the tree- he has big hands huge back and huge thighs
as much as I would love him to do the sports I did- I competed against those kinds of kids

I am going to do some kind of squats later with vidz
What? What kind of a promise is that? She needs to let you out of that one.

I think some sort of MA is good for kids. At the core it teaches you how not to break your shit when you fall, and a lot of physics. I think you should just spin it right and you can convince her. Little kids don’t even do anything that dangerous!
Ah peaches - the hard question

when I met the wife I was still competing a bit
and she got to see the ugly stuff

the closet and two hockey bags full of tape, liniment, stank old gi’s
pads, wraps, rash guards, mouth guards etc.
I mean everyone has that right?
right?

she also gets to see get my ears drained
the staggering sheer number of chiropractic bills
the sheer numbers of bagged ice and tape that I would use daily
I mean who doesn’t buy 4 bags of ice at a time for a bath

and she sees that while I love it - I am a bit obsessed still.

yes its a great activity for kids
but I competed against those kids- who’s parents started them early
the gung ho dad coaches- I dont want to be that guy.

I like the pull up / push up supersests. An oldie but a goodie.

Were you a proper alcoholic? or was that a joke?

Farmer Brett-

I just embarrassed myself a few times and decided I had enough
so I think I stopped somewhere around 26 or 27
guess I was good for 8 to 12 pints of guiness or a few gin and tonics at a time

Finally I got to train with the new shoes- vidz to follow

7.28.11

lots of mobility and pvc at home
more at the gym jumprope, lunges, dislocates

bb warmup BO row RDL, jump shrug, hang clean
95, 3x5, 135 3x3

OH squats- not used to the shoes-
95x6 95 2x10

FS

135 x6, 185 2x5,225 3x3, 245 2x2, 265 3x1 275 x1

nothing great here kind of beat up from yesterday -
anything over 265 looks like ass the squats earlier this week where better

OH squat 2x15
these felt much better
crazy knee activity

overall- everything felt high today.
go figure.

vidz
warm up

first set of dubs
felt kinda high

too high- and kinda weird hips

more uglee

yay

critique away please.

I’m here to see the videos and then I get to read about draining ears. That’s pretty cool too

Hey O_b_s I try to entertain.

My brother fell at his house
( which is really our apartment we cant fit in)
and cracked his head

hard enough that he knocked himself out-
and woke up when work called saying wtf

wtf indeed

saw him in the hospital and then cleaned up the apt
where he fell.

No clue how it happened - but he has a tiny fracture in his skull
WTF indeed.
a few CAT Scans he is ok.

Im trying to relax- for the weekend- big block of long days ahead.

here I am worrying about front squats and dude is in the hospital
with a cracked open head.

its in the air this week I swear

^SHIT K, WTF? Glad he’s ok.

Dday

WTF is right.

he is OK.
being released tonight.

we thought crazy things-

botched robbery not too likely as the neighborhood is super nice and sanitized
that and the door is 24 7 locked.

he had a seizure - still not ruled out.

crazee week.

Crazy week indeed!

Ah, I see. I’m not very good at watching my peeps roll. Don’t tell him but I actually warned all the guys that I would kick their asses if they hurt my brother when he came to class.

I don’t doubt, he’ll be an active flexible kid, so maybe just expose him to it and let him pick it if he wants. You don’t have to be that dad if you don’t want to be.

critique:
your shoes are too new
your shoes are too blue

the suck is strong in this one

i’m just jealous cuz i had to make my own lifty boots. They are awesome, as are the OHS. My glutes are so tight, just watching you made mine tear loose from my back.

i really like your shoes. mine are white but i really like the blue and black look.

would your wife feel better about him getting into gymnastics? that could be a good thing to do with respect to strength / mobility / flexibility. easy (maybe, i don’t really know?) to transition from something like that to other sports. i agree you don’t have to be ‘that dad’ if you don’t want to be.

sorry to hear about your brother. glad to hear that he is okay.

The shoes look great. I don’t mean from an aesthetic standpoint because they are about the same dork level as mine. They look solid and supportive. It’s funny that you stomped your feet. I do that from time to time as well. It feels good and gets me motivated. I like the noise the shoes make.

I had to pause the video to take a look at your front squat grip. It’s a clean grip but kind of twisted a bit.

I hope your brother is okay. Mine had a mini stroke on Monday (second time) at 40 and my mom is still yelling at him.

overhead squats were hypnotic… mmm

I’d critique this but I don’t think you want to hear what I have to say about your socks.

Nice lifting, as always. Glad to hear your brother is OK.

It’s cookie time!! So chocolatey, so delicious…

That was a good day of eating, Kev! Damn. I’m with you on the meat eating during the summer, its just so bloody hot up in here!

Nice Pendlays! And the OHS are sick. How do you keep your arch? Its insane.

New shoes look good!

Sorry about your bro. That’s like some Columbo shit. But i’m glad he’s doing better! Sending good vibes.

Also, about the little man, its true, you don’t have to be THAT dad - you’re too cool to be anyways. But I’m with Lex, maybe gymnastics? Especially if the lil guy is a tumbler and likes arching and stuff! Just look your woman square in the eye and say, “you can’t stop greatness, babe, you just can’t” lol! I hope she’s not a hitter…

Great work in here, luvin the vids! Giggity.
