KM'c Black Irish Bastid 3.0

That’s some awesome training. I love how you make the workout work despite being in not-as-familiar surroundings.

I third or quadruple or whatever number we’re at; brutal leg sesh.

Thanks Steve- I will check out that book.

I need to get back to some convict bw conditioning at home on days I don’t train…

Just need a pull up bar and you’re good to go.

Good work Kevin. I love trap bar deads. When I do those there is no discomfort in the lower back for me. We pair those with plyo-jumps .

On your bodyweight stuff: just take 4 moderate exercises you can do and make a complex out of them. Start off easy intensity ( 1 minute breaks between rounds) and then amp up weekly. Like: 15 pushups 20 sqauts 5 ab rollouts 20 sec jump rope. Then each week add a little to each exercise. These are done daily and trust me after a couple of weeks you start to feel like a athlete again.

Rick

Convict training? They finally catch up to you? Well, since you ain’t a cop, priest, or bartender what was left but criminal?
“its a trap bar- they are easier then a rack pull so I don’t know how to gauges them”. Gauge them as heavy. 530 + 530, if nothing else, great grip.

swinging through to say HI!

will try to keep up now

Thanks people

Thanks Niki!

Steve I have a kettle bell at home- I can come up with some stuff
I checked out that book- pistols one arm pull up and push up
and some cool bridges, sounds like fun - or tendonitis in a can :)))

I did it for a few months when I couldnt train it was fun

Fischer- your right it doesnt take much.

My college coach was big on BW caslisthenics- I think there was a point where
I ran 10-13 miles 6 days a week and did something silly like 800+ push ups per day
wonder why I have joint issues now :)))))

Harry- these felt heavy- It is good grip work

O Hai Betty!!!

ok ceiling and walls of the stairwell now painted check
lawn work done
weekend check.

somewhere between pulling and box squats barefoot-
and doing the lawn in cleats- my right ankle is fucked up.

enough for me to root around looking for my old pal
the air cast

ice, cursing and elevation
and some lax ball rolling seem to be helping

so no training today- tues I am going to tear shit up.

here are vids of last week.

the first set of 440 the bar is moving fast
I pulled 530, then 500 then did a set of 440 3x1

thanks for reading.

Is the ankle an old injury you’ve aggravated? May have missed that before. Hope for a speedy recovery.
Do you think you’ll be using the trap bar going forward? I’m considering getting one more for shrugs than anything but pulling heavy would be nice as well.

Ahhh now I see what you mean by “high handles” looking real strong bro, I think you had some reps left in the tank with the 440.

Dday- thanks.

both ankles are jacked up lots of running and just how they are made
its not bad , just tender.

I like the trap bar its a good way to reinforce decent posture in the movement.
It helps me keep an arch- and its a cheap way to ‘deload’ the spine
in that Im not loading it like I would in squats.

try to get a day pass and train at a gym with a trap bar- lots of variety in them
and some have limited space to load plates

Ill post some links in your log that Eric Cressey had on deadlifting

mattyxl- thanks man- this one is goofy usually I like the low handles better
these felt like cheating

For Farmer Brett- here is an ancient video of Dave Tate teaching the Dimmel deadlift,
although I think its spelled dimel.

k, good work on the trap bar. I have nightmares still about the horrible quad tear I suffered on that fucking thing.

this is the first time I have “seen” you. you are a lean raw-boned motherfucker. look like a piece of plywood.

a “hard man” in other words…it is a compliment.

I hope your ankle gets better soon.

Awesome DLs, they make me want to play around with the trap bar.

so dimmel deads are kinda like fast rdls??

very nice pulling and that weight went up fast.

hope the ankle heels quick.

HT- thanks man- I do take that as a compliment.
I remember someone saying you where built like a concrete bunker

Nikki trap bars can be fun, and thank you.

MinM yes they are a high speed contious RDL

Louie wrote some good stuff on them need to look at the google machine

Frenchie thank you

ankle is doing ok but Im still kind of hobbling

noting too taxing today no energy
no leg drive on push press, wanted to do bigger jerks but not today
with shanky leg
z presses - hard as hell I like this as more of a volume thing-
cause 135 would be way way too much
pullups- all as fast as possible

db bench- what ever should have done weighted dips

Oops dbs should have been 80’s not 100 there is only one 100 at my gym
s

steam felt good on this shit rainy day.

and I dress to impress with my custom Dr. Mascherano shorts.

thanks for looking, will check you all out later on.

good stuff in here as always

good volume with good lifts

Alright, I’m training legs tomorrow and I’ll try your torturous Dimmels lol

Awesome training, those are some nice push presses.
You also have me wanting to go in the sauna. I think tomorrow’s the day, those Dimmels may not give me any other choice but to relax in some steam.

Thank Big Pete

Nikki thanks- the sauna is the shit
I feel less sore after using it -
but it makes me mad hungry

whoah!!!
those are some serious push presses!!

I will try those dimmels too…always trying to ‘bring up the rear.’

MinM thanks
they where big push presses for me.

I think it is spelled dimel
sure I have been spelling it wrong too.

Notes-

still cant put weight on my right ankle too much
so no true pulling, no OH squat , No real front squat,
No weighted lunges.
lame.

zerchers- felt these in my upper back more then legs
they are getting stronger- but I look less upright and much higher
how low do should these be I guess the bar should touch thighs
maybe time to do them off the floor
ugh

dimel took some vids- 185 was too much this week
need to work on arching more
and keeping arms loose and straight, I seem to be rowing the weight a little

you can see in the vid that speed and hip movement starts to suffer
needs work
starting to like these

good girl bad girl- need to do them mo mo mo

tabata front squat- left me for dead.

holy shit these are hard
the first two sets I got like 14, 13 reps
after that it goes down hill fast
hit 8-10 each round.

I love these.

thanks for reading and watching.

Nice vids.

Zerchers look so uncomfortable, must be why I’ve never tried them.

The Dimels looked pretty quick to me. I suppose the heavier they get the slower they become, so it’s wise to keep them on the light side otherwise it defeats the purpose.

Great lifting Kevin.
